••• Madi's POV •••
It's a sunny today. We ate outside, on the school picnic area. Enjoying the sun. Bella was searching for something. Or someone.
"He's not here." Jessica said. She looked at Bella and then she closed her eyes enjoying the sun "Whenever the weather's nice, the Cullens disappear."
"What, do they just ditch?" Bella asked.
"No, Dr. and Mrs. Cullen yank them out for, like, hiking and camping and stuff"
"We tried that out on our parents. Not even close." Jennifer continued.
I spotted Angela coming to us.
"Guys, I'm going to prom with Eric." She sat in the same picnic table as us. "I just asked him. I took control!" We all smiled.
"I told you that would happen" Bella said
"Are you sure you guys have to go out of town?" She picked my hand looking at me and Bella. Since Bella started saying that she was going to Phoenix, for completing the lie I was saying that I was going with her. But I'm still hoping that those plans for Phoenix will disappear.
"Oh, yeah, it's a little family thing" Bella said looking at me. I bit my apple looking at her. She owes me one. For sure.
"Okay, we should go shopping in Port Angeles before all the good dresses get cleaned out" Jessica said.
The bell rang. We started getting up to go to class.
"Port Angeles? You mind if I come?" Bella asked. I looked at her. Why would she want to go?
"Yeah, we need your opinion. You too Madi." Angela said.
We all laughed.
••• 1 day later, Port Angeles •••
"Why are you even trying a dress?" Jennifer asked me.
"Don't tell Bella, but I'm trying to tell our mom to cancel. It would be my first prom since..." I stopped. I looked at the floor. I still didn't told Jennifer about me being with Seth. But if I know her well, she doesn't need me to tell her
"Since you are dating Seth? Come one! I could see you on the beach! You can't deceive anyone!" I do know her. We smiled.
"Yeah" I said. She hugged me.
"I'm so happy for you. But your family thing, is it important?" She asked me. Well, what can I say.
"Just a bit. More important for Bella than me. But what can I do?" She laughed. "Oh! That's a nice one! I like it!" She said looking to her sister.
I looked away, straight in the way of a dress. A beautiful dress. It was a gray violet. Slim in my torax, whit a v shape in the chest and from the waist down, the fabric just worked with gravity and fell down to the ground, whit an opening at the right side. It was gorgeous. I went down to see it closer and the fabric felt really good. It was amazing.
I could feel someone behind me. It was Bella.
"You didn't have to not go to the prom because of me."
"Well you said it was a family thing so I need to go too."
"I'm sorry."
