Chapter 12: True Excitement

The following days were the same. Edward picked us up, no one talks on the way to school, we go to school, but, our friends now wouldn't stare so much, but they were still trying to take some information from me and Bella, when she wasn't with Edward. Then, after school, he leaves me at home, but Bella would always stay with him, and only return a few hours later.

This Saturday Bella is going to take me to La Push. I don't have any schoolwork for next week nor Seth so we are going to spend the weekend together. Seth invited me to spend the night in his house, in Leah's room of course, the problem was asking my dad. When I asked him, he smiled. He already knew. Harry, Seth's father, told him that we were dating, but dad didn't told me. He was difficult at first, but Sue, Seth's mom, reassured him that it was good for us to spend time, and she was going to be at home while we were. They are kinda treating us like children, well, we still are but... it wasn't the first time that we would spend a weekend together. The past summer I would spend a week in his house. I remember, one night, we were watching some movies and we fell asleep on the couch, together. But, using my fathers quote, "this time is different". I rolled my eyes when he said that, while he was rubbing his hand in my head.

Bella said that she would take me to La Push if I helped her cleaning her car Friday after school. Finally a day without Edward! Well, he really didn't show up at school for the whole day. So as Alice. So she was mine today! Finaly!

We were cleaning the trunk, and I saw the big dent on the side of it. I remembered the day my sister almost died and I shivered.

The Volvo came to our street and stoped in our driveway. Bella looked at the car, waiting for Edward to get out of the car. He did. He came closer. My dream of no Edward day was over.

"Hey Bella! Hello Madi!" He said

"Hey!" I waved. "Mmmm I need to get something... back... in the house" I looked at Bella. I didn't want to be the third-well today. She looked at me and Edward tried to hide his laugh. Sometimes I fell that he can, some how, hear what I think. When I think something funny about Bella and he is near, he always smiles or makes a small laugh. It's weird.

I went inside. My dad was in the couch watching TV. I sat besides him.

"So already tired?" He asked

"No, she sent me here. She is tired of me, probably" I lied. I'm not sure if dad knows about Bella's new "boyfriend" yet. I'm not sure if they are dating or just spending time. I never seen them kiss or even touch hands or something since the first they he picked us up. Their relationship is a bit weird. But I wasn't always with them. So what do I know, right?

"I'm sure it's not like that" dad comforted me. "Oh! Billy and Jake are coming here. There's a game tonight. They are probably in the way."

"Mmm okay. I'm going to tell Bella" I got up and walked outside. Bella and Edward were talking to each other. I looked at the trunk and the dent wasn't there. What happened? Did Edward fix it? How? Then he stopped talking and looked at me. Bella looked at me too. Then Edward looked at the road. I walked closer.

"What is it?" Bella asked Edward.

"A complication. I'll pick you up tomorrow" Edward said. Tomorrow? I hope she didn't forget me. Edward went to his car and got in.

"Tomorrow?" I asked Bella.

"I'm think I'm going to his house tomorrow." I looked at her, with a sad look. "I didn't forget you, I'll leave you at La Push in the morning, I'll go to his house at lunch time."

"Good." Billy's car showed in our sight. "Oh that's right. Billy and Jake are coming." Billy stoped in our driveway. "Dad! They are here!" I screamed for dad to hear me.

Jacob got out of the car and went pick up Billy's chair.

"Hey, come to visit your trunk?" Bella said.

"Hey! Looks good. Got that dent out" Jacob said. I'm not sure how the dent was fixed, but...

"Actually, we came to visit your flat-screen" Billy said. Jacob threw a pepper bag to Billy's lap. "First Mariners game of the season." Jacob was looking at something on the trunk. It was stell a bit dirty. "Plus Jacob here keeps bugging me about seeing Bella again"

"Great dad, thanks." Jacob said. I laughed. So as Bella.

My dad came to us holding some drinks in cans "Vitamine R"

"Well done chief! Harry Clearwater's homemade fish fry" I smiled.

"Good man." Dad said.

"How are you Madi?" Billy looked at me "News run fast in the reservation" then he looked at my father. Oh god. He was talking about Seth for sure.

"Yeah, I guess so." I smiled. Everyone looked at me. This was awkward.

My dad started helping Billy with his chair to go to our house. "Any luck with that Waylon Case?" Billy said, locking at my sister.

"Well, I don't think it was an animal that killed him." Dad said. Jacob hugged me and Bella touched his arm with her elbow.

"Never thought it was" Billy said.

"So spread the word out at the Rez, huh? Keep the kids out of the woods"

"Will do. Don't want no one else getting hurt, do we?" Billy said. Jacob helped my dad getting Billy up the stairs with his wheelchair. He looked at Bella.

When all of us were inside, dad told me, again, for not to go to the woods. And for the, I don't know how many times, I said that I wouldn't.

Billy and dad stayed in front of the TV watching the game and me  and Bella went outside to finish cleaning the trunk with Jacob's help. Jacob said that, today in school, Seth wouldn't shut up about this weekend. That he was too much excited. I blushed. Bella and Jacob laughed.

After we finished, we ate the fry fish and I went upstairs to pack the things I needed for this weekend. I was so excited. Like Seth. I smiled thinking of him. I miss him so much.

When the game ended, Billy and Jacob went home. And Bella went to her room. I knocked at her door.

"Can I come in?" I asked.

"Yeah, of course." 

"So can I ask. How are the things between you and Edward?"

"Mmmm they are fine, I think."

"You think? Come one Bella. Give something more. I miss our talks. And we can finally talk. You have been busy" i laughed. 

"We are just talking. Knowing each other."

"Nothing more? A kiss perhaps?"

She looked at me. I made a puppy face, trying to get out more info from her.

"No kiss" she said, looking down. I looked at her with a sad look.

"Do you want to kiss him?"

She blushed. "Yeah... but" I stopped her.

"No but, use the words you said to me. Just make a move. I can see he's into you." She laughed while I was saying the exact words that she said to me days before Seth and I started dating.

She hugged me. "It's different. But I hope your right."

"I'm always right" I said.
