The weekend was perfect. Except the part when Sue was always around us, making it weird and a bit uncomfortable. On saturday, we stayed at home all day because was pouring rain outside. But still, Harry went fishing. When we were watching some TV, Seth's mother was watching with us or in the kitchen preparing something, always looking at us, like controlling us. If we went to do something out of extraordinary. We were best friends since we were 12 and never we had someone watching us watching TV. Sue enjoyed being in her room reading or going to the town do some voluntary while Harry was on his weekend trips fishing, and sometimes she went with him. And those weekends we were alone the hole day. But "this time is different" like my dad says.
Before dinner we tried to escape the controlling eyes of Seth's family. Harry was already at home. And we could escape to the small backyard of Seth's house. Luckily it wasn't raining anymore. There was no light outside to so we just sat in some logs, that were like natural chairs, talking. I learned that he was failing at math but he was really good at history. Something that we were different. I loved math! And history wasn't my thing. I made him promise that he would pass math and of course I would help him, he promised that he would ask me if he doesn't understand something.
Leah came out of the house and called us for dinner. The wonderful fish that Harry caught today. The dinner was simple, not much talks. Everyone just eating. Some commentaries on where would Leah go next year, because she was going to graduate this year. She still didn't know. I think the heartbreak made her not knowing what she would do for her life, unfortunately. She licked kinda lost. Maybe she thought that she would be with Sam forever. That she would stay in this beautiful town of La Push forever with his love one, like her parents. But everything changed.
After dinner all of us watched some program that was happening on the TV, some contest filmed in Los Angeles, that the people can just win money for overcome some challenges. It was kinda fun. Comic. I looked at Leah, she was bored as hell, I could see it. Then she got up.
"Well, I'm going to bed." She started getting into to her room.
"Well, I should go to, I don't wanna wake you when I get into your room" I said, getting up from where I was sitting.
"Oh it's okay"
"Oh come on, it's 10 already, so it's time to go to sleep" well, I wasn't really much sleepy, but I was tired of watching TV, even if Seth was there, his parents made the air uncomfortable.
"Yeah, I'm getting sleepy too" Seth said, getting up.
"Oh well." Leah said. "Oh yeah! I'm going to the beach tomorrow morning. Wanna ride?" She looked at Seth. She made a smile.
"Mmm dad, mom, can we go?" Seth asked his parents. They looked to each other.
"Yes son, you can go. But I want you here at lunch!" Sue said. Thank you so much! I was tired of being all day at home with someone watching us. It's great being with Seth, and I love his family, but today was just uncomfortable. It was weird stealing a kiss from Seth, or hugging him because his mother was always near. It's like we had more freedom when we were younger and not dating. Luckily, Leah had the greatest idea.
I give a good night kiss to Seth and went to Leah's room. Sue made a bed out of a mattress that was used to go camping and some sheets. It was really comfortable actually.
We laid down in our beds. After some time I thanked her.
"Thank you" I said, looking at the ceiling.
"You welcome. You know, they were like that when me and Sam started dating, but then they came around and got used to. But of course for you it's different, you only see each other at the weekends, we saw each other every day in school." I didn't know how to answer that. Seth told me since Sam broke up with her, she didn't talk much about him.
