Chapter 14: Boys

The week went down really quickly. Edward would pick us up everyday in the morning, and after school he left me at home and Bella would stay with him and she would arrive, always, a few minutes before after dad. Like she knew when dad was arriving or something. I helped Seth in some Math and we spent a lot of time on call. I could see that Sue was getting really upset because he was all the time at the computer. But it rained all week and we were studying, so that's good.

Friday came and dad wanted to go, again, to eat at the diner. I told Edward to leave me today in the police station. When I arrived to Forks, I would spent a lot of time in the police station after school. I did my homework, there was a lot, but I finished and I didn't had anything to do the whole weekend, besides reading some English book that I needed to read until two weeks after the end of semester or starting on an art project due three weeks from now. I would need to go to Jennifer's house or her to mines for that. Seth, unfortunately, had a test on Moday, and it was history, so he didn't need my help, and Sue would let him have his computer just for studying. That's a bummer.

Dad finally told me to get up of the seat I was seated to go to the dinner, getting me out of my thoughts.

Dad and I were already at the dinner.

"Do you know where is Bella?" Dad said

"Mmmm no. I'll send her a message"

"Okay. I'll order for her then"

A few moments Bella arrived. I could hear the loudy trunk arriving. I looked outside and she was talking to Mike. He and some of the his guy friends were playing basketball, kinda just messing around, on the diner parking lot. I starting to think that Bella has a lot of boys wanting her. 1. Mike, 2. Kinda Eric, 3. Edward. Well I can tell that for her, the last one it's the chosen one. I really didn't think that moving here would give so many options to my sisters. I laughed at that. Then she came in.

"Hey. Sory I'm late. Biology project" Edward project yeah. She seat between me and dad, in front of the window. 

"We ordered you the spinach salad. I hope it's okay" dad said.

"You, guys, should order one for yourself next time" Bella said. I looked to dad's plate when Cora, the diner waitress, arrived with our plates. Steak with chips. I ordered the same thing. Uh, she's right. "Cut back on the steak"

"Hey, I'm as healthy as a horse. " dad said. I laughed.

"So, chief, boys want to know..." Cora said. Some locals on the table in front of us looked at my dad, trying not to look to obvious. They failed. "Did you find anything down by Queets River Today?" My dad looked to the locals.

"Yeah, we found a bare human footprint, but it looks like whoever that is is headed east... so Kitsap County sheriff is gonna take over form here. Okay?" Dad said. I remembered dad friend that died last week. Bella looked very focused on the conversation.  

"I just hope they catch him fast" Cora said and she went to the kitchen diner. The locals looked away.

I looked behind Bella and Mike was doing some weird dance moves outside, closer to the widow were  Bella was inside. My dad looked too

"Looks like your friends are flagging you." Dad said. Bella looked behind her shoulder. I laughed. She looked at us embarrassed. I was too embarrassed, at least I didn't have a window behind me. "It's okay if you, guys, wanna go join them. I'm just gonna turn in early anyway"

"Me, too" Bella said. I looked at Bella. Well, if she's not going I don't have a ride then. I looked down.

"Bella. It's Friday night. Go out. Madi already did her homework and Seth is studying right?" He looked at me. I looked at him, nodding. He looked outside where Mike was. "And looks like the Newton boy's got a big smile for you"

"Yeah, he's a good buddy" I looked at Bella. If father knew that she has more that 1 suitor. Well.

"What about any of these other yahoos in town?" I laughed hearing my dad say 'yahoos'. "Anybody interest you?" I looked at my dad, then to my sister. She was in shock and he looked like he wanted a answer. But I do know that he was just making conversation.

Bella made a pause. "Dad, we gonna talk about boys?" this was better than some TV telenovela. We laughed.

"Yeah, I guess not" well, I kinda wanted her answer. "I just feel that I leave you alone too much. Madi goes to La Push at the weekend, and when she doesn't she's in her room" I looked at my dad. He was kidding me. If he knew that she is spending a lot of time with Edward Cullen. Well.

I stopped him "okay dad, I'm here. And she's not alone." She looked at me, annoyed. Okay, not gonna tell. "I'm with her a lot of time too. And she has a lot of friends, with pages." I laughed. Bella looked like she wanted to kill me, but at the same time relived.

"Yeah... but I truly don't mind being alone sometimes." She paused. "I guess I'm kind like my dad in that way" I looked at her. I guess she was more like our dad and I was more like our mother. But my taste was the same as dad, everything in this town was a good thing thing for me, and Bella didn't have the same perspective. Except for one thing, probably.

"Mmmm I'm tired anyway, so I want to go home to... I do need to call Jennifer to see if we can do our art project this weekend." I kinda lied. I wasn't tired, but I wanted to go home.

Already at home, I called Jennifer, and tomorrow I would go to her house by afternoon. Then, me and Bella called mom. I spoke with her first. Dad told her about Seth. Uhh. Our conversation was based on Seth and how was he with me. If he was nice or something. And she started teaching me the basics of dating and "being safe". Oh god. I told her that we were still too young and NOTHING was going to happen. These adults, come on. Obsessed. But still my mom said that would say to Bella to warn me about it. I lend the phone to Bella and went to the bathroom to take a shower.

After the shower, while leaving the bathroom, I heard a noise coming from Bella's room. Something on the wall? I went to her bedrooms door and didn't heard anything. I knocked.

"Bella? Are estou okay?" I asked

"Mmmm yeah! Sorry! I threw a book at the wall." She said form the other side of the door. She did that a lot actually. One day I caught her throwing books outside, she said sometimes she would get mad at the characters so she threw the books to the air or walls.

"Mmm okay, I'm going to sleep. Good night"

"Good night Madi."
