Hau walked down to the beach. They were going to look there first. They started from Kukui's house, walking down the coast. After a few minutes of walking they saw two figures sitting on the ledge at the beach.
Hau snook up to them. He saw that it was Lana and Ash. Lana had her arm around Ash, as if she was comforting him.
"I- I don't know," Ash said. "I just don't want to hurt anyone,"
"Ash, I know you don't, but you can't just cut everyone out of your life. I don't know anything about what you have gone through," Lana said. "But I know for a fact that none of your friends would hate you. You would never intentionally hurt them. You tried to save Viren for Arceus's sake! But you can't just stop being friends with everyone,"
"I-i know. It's just that i- I'm so scared. You don't know how many times that I have gone through this thought process and- and," Ash said. Then all that came from Ash were choked sobs.
Lana shushed him in a reassuring way. "I understand that, I really do. And I admire you for being able to go so long with this, this guilt. But don't worry. I'm always here for you and I will give you a shoulder to cry on at any time," Lana said. "So don't forget that,"
They sat in silence, Ash getting closer to Lana.
"I can't believe that, poor ash," Hau mumbled. They walked home.
