'Babe!' The sound of Cal's voice calling loudly caused my eyes to snap open and I sat up on the sofa as he grinned down at me. He stepped through the door and gave me a soft wink and I gently smiled back, feeling groggy from sleep with a major stress headache.

'I'm glad you're home,' I mumbled, happily.

'Yeah, me too,' he replied, as he held the door open and glanced back to the outside corridor. 'Just come in, man.'

'Who are you talking to?' I asked, with a frown, sitting up straighter and glancing around the open door.

My heart rate increased as Felix stepped into the apartment and gave me a small smile and a quick nod.

'Felix,' I said, not realising his name had actually left my mouth.

'Hey again,' Felix replied, tilting his head as he grinned at me.

Cal was completely oblivious as he allowed the door to swing shut and proceeded to the kitchen, opening the fridge and grabbing two beers.

'What are you doing here?' I asked Felix, as calmly and amicably as possible.

'Cal invited me over for a few beers,' he answered. 'I hope you don't mind.'

My eyes narrowed at the pretence tone. He wasn't at all concerned at how I felt about anything, the guy was an ass.

'I don't mind at all,' I lied.

'You want a beer, babe?' Cal asked me, from the kitchen. 'Don't worry, we're not planning on stealing the TV, we're actually going to work on some designs.'

'That's okay,' I said, getting up from the sofa and turning to him with an innocent smile. 'Hold the beer, I have studying to do so...TV is all yours!'

'Oh, you sure you don't want to hang in here with us?' Cal asked, studying me carefully. 'I just don't want you to feel left out.'

'You guys are working on designs,' I chuckled, falsely. 'It's cool, I'll leave you both to it.'

'Sure, okay,' Cal said, as he paced over and quickly kissed my forehead. 'I'll see you when I come to bed.'

'Yeah,' I replied, heading for the bedroom door.

'Night, Bethan.' I heard Felix speak and I froze as my hand reached for the door handle and I closed my eyes softly before forcing on another smile as I turned to him.

'Goodnight,' I replied, immediately heading inside my room and closing the door.

'What a dick!' I hissed, wanting to punch a wall or smash something. He really had some fucking nerve.

Immediately, I knew I needed to call Penny to rant otherwise my head would explode from the fury inside of me. I couldn't believe he had the audacity to come to the apartment Cal and I shared after he had kissed me. Understandably, he had no idea he had kissed his boss's girl and at the time he had no loyalties to either of us, but now he did know this to be the case, therefore, the right thing for him to do would be to keep his distance, or better, fuckoff!

'Penny!' I muttered, loudly, as she answered the phone and I sat on the edge of my bed.

'Oh god...what happened?' Penny sighed, from the other end of the line.

'He is here!' I hissed. 'In my fucking apartment!'

'Felix?' she questioned. 'He is not!'

'Yes!' I cried. 'Smiling at me all smug and cocky when he came in too! Can you believe that guy? I don't know what to do, Pen. I'm really going to have to just tell Cal as soon as he goes home otherwise he will just keep playing mind games with me.'

'That's exactly what he'll do, Bethan,' Penny replied. 'Cut him off now! Do not give him anymore leverage on you! Cal will forgive you; he already knows you kissed someone and forgave you. He'll know it's not your fault that he ended up hiring the guy! He'll appreciate your honesty.'

'I've already lied,' I sighed. 'I already pretended I didn't know him!'

'Just tell Cal you panicked!' Penny replied. 'It's only been like a minute since you found out Felix was working there so if you tell him now you've still told him right away.'

'I'm afraid to tell him,' I whispered. 'We're so good again!'

'So are you going to let this drag on?' Penny asked. 'What if Felix decides to tell him? What will that make you look like then?'

'I know, I know,' I sighed. 'Okay, I am going to tell him as soon as Felix leaves. Hopefully tomorrow he'll just text him and tell him not to bother coming into work.'

'That's most likely what will happen,' she replied. 'I really don't think Cal will be mad at you.'

'I hope not,' I mumbled.

'What is he doing there anyway?' Penny asked.

'Cal invited him over to work on some designs,' I told her. 'I excused myself to my room to do some studying.'

'Well, maybe actually do some studying and just keep your mind occupied by that until Felix leaves,' Penny suggested. 'Then as soon as he's gone, have the talk.'

'Okay, that's exactly what I'm going to do,' I said, exhaling loudly. 'I'm going to focus on my Medieval English paper and then as soon as he's out of here, I'm telling Cal the truth.'

'Good girl!' she said, encouragingly. 'Be sure to text me and let me know how it goes and remember, there's a bed here for you if you need it.'

'Why would you say that?!' I cried. 'Jeez, way to make me feel better!'

'I'm kidding!' she chuckled. 'Anyway, I have to go, Daniel has been calling me all day asking to talk.'

'Wow, I thought that thing was officially over,' I said, still feeling slightly uncomfortable discussing the professor my best friend was sleeping with.

'Me too,' she sighed. 'So, I'm intrigued to see what he has to say.'

'Well, we'll talk on the phone later tonight to update each other on both of our...situations,' I told her.

'Okay, cool,' she replied. 'Good luck!'

'You too,' I said, before hanging up the phone.

I immediately changed into some pyjamas before getting under the covers and turning on the TV. I left a movie playing in the background as I loaded up my laptop and opened up my half written Medieval English paper, turning the TV up a little louder as I started in order to drown out the mumbling of Cal and Felix's voices through the wall.
