Chapter 54

*few days later*

So it's about a week since the whole dad thing at the house. I haven't really slept much since I know he could escape again and come back to hurt me.

Today is the first day I can actually leave my bed and do stuff. Nothing big, just simple things like grocery shopping or going for walks. Right now, I'm in the living room with everyone else trying to figure out our plans for today.

Tayler is being way more protective of me than ever before. He won't stop blaming the whole thing on himself too. If anything it's my fault for storming out of the house that night. "Well how about we hangout in the pool?" Bryce suggested.

Everyone nodded agreeing, the. Looked over to me for approval. Honestly, I didn't really want to. I have scars and bruises everywhere and wearing a swimsuit just makes me insecure about it even more. I nodded my head yes to them.

Me, Charli, Dixie, and Avani went up to my room to change first. Charli immediately noticed something was off so she said "Nikki you ok? If you dont wanna go in the pool we can do something else." I looked over to her and said "n-no.. I'm ok. It's just with the bruises.. they're pretty bad.."

The girls all gave me a hug and Avani said "well , I think you should rock the one piece today. Just if you wanna cover it up." I smiled and said "Wright, that's what I'll do then. Thanks." She smiled and nodded.

I went into my closet, grabbing a one piece bathing suit then slipping it on while the others put on their bathing suits. Charli and Dixie has bikinis and me and Avani had one  pieces.

When we All went back downstairs, the boys were already in the pool. I laughed a little and just sat on the edge with my feet in the water.

Josh swam over to me and stood between my legs and hugged me. I giggled and hugged him back. "You alright?" He asked while looking up. I nodded "all good, just a little tired." Josh nodded and stayed with me.

I saw Charli on the opposite side of the pool taking pictures of us so I laughed and waved to her. She laughed too and took one more then Put her phone down.

Josh lifted himself out of the pool and sat next to me, getting me all wet. "Joshhh!" I said trying to sound mad. He just laughed. "Sorry princess." I giggled and kissed his cheek, then put my head on his shoulder.

"How you feeling?" He said more quietly to me. I shrugged my shoulders. "I mean.. not bad, but also not good. Just a little bit like.. eh." I said trying to answer his question honestly, I don't know how I feel.. I don't feel normal but I also don't feel terrible, you know what I mean?

Josh just nodded, placing his head on top of mine. I smiled and said "alright now I wanna go in the pool." He laughed and did back into the pool, me following.

Everyone swam around for a while, the boys playing volleyball, the girls trying not to get hit with the ball. It was a bit weird for me, constantly being checked on. "Nicole you ok?" "Nicole how do you feel?" "Nicole need water?" Look, I know they're just trying to help, but j can take care of myself.

After we were all done in the pool, it was around 6:30pm. We were all, well.. they were hungry so we sat down to discuss what we want to have for dinner. Honestly, I'm not in the mood to eat. I don't eat much anymore.. since my parents first left actually. The most I've eaten in one meal was a burger and fries.

"Nicole how about you? What do you wanna eat?" Tayler asked while turning towards me. I shrugged. "Not really hungry.. you guys can pick." Charli looked at me like I was crazy. "Nicole Louise you have to eat. Come on." She said with a small laugh.

I shrugged. "You guys pick, I will eat whatever." They all nodded and decided on sonic. I just told them to get me a burger with fries, and a small coke. They nodded and Anthony, Avani, Dixie, and griffin when to go pick it up.

While I waited for the food to come, I ran upstairs and took a quick shower to get the pool water out of my hair. While in the shower, I got a massive headache. I held my head and just stood there as the hot water gently poured onto my body. I didn't know where this was coming from.. mostly because my it hurt too much to think.

When I got out of the shower, I put on a hoodie and sweats then went back to the living room. "Nicole, you ok..? Your a little pale." Tayler said while feeling my forehead. I nodded. "Just a headache."

"Did you take your pill today?" Josh asked while giving me a hug. I didn't answer. I totally forgot about that. "Um.."

"Seriously Nik.. Bryce go get it for Her." Tayler said while sitting back down. Bryce ran to my room quick and got my pill, then came and gave it to me. "Thanks Bryce." He just nodded.

Charli sent me the pictures she took today so i could post on Instagram, so that's what I did.

After I posted and responded to some comments, the four of them were back with our food. My head felt a little better too. Damn this pill is like magic.

Josh brought me my food and we all just stayed in the living room, eating and watching tv. I had the remote so I flipped through each channel till I got to the nfl channel. Right now, there is a live Steelers vs patriots game (idk football teams that well or if they play in special leagues so don't attack me 😂).

I stopped changing the channel and just watched the game. Jaden laughed at me. "You seriously have a problem Nik." He said with a smile. I laughed and said "well, in obviously can't play for the next basically year so this is as close as I'm getting." Jaden laughed and we all watched the game, then later fell asleep.
