Chapter sixteen Part II

In the afternoon Albus and Minerva took a bath together before they went downstairs to prepare dinner. Albus' parents have sent an owl to let them know that she will be home just in time for dinner. Minerva was nervous to meet Mr. and Mrs. Dumbledore. Of course, she wants them to like her but what will they say or think of her when they know that Ally is her real daughter. They seem to like Cassandra very much.

Both Albus and Minerva make their way to go downstairs when she paused by the stairs.

"Darling, you go and start to cook dinner. I will go check on our little girl. She should be up by now." Minerva said.

"Alright, my dear. Give darling Sherbet a wake-up-kiss from her daddy, will you?"

Minerva smiled and gave him a chaste kiss upon his lips before she went to the nursery. Reaching her daughter's room, she opened the door and walked in quietly. As if the toddler senses her mother's present she woke up from her dreamland.

"Hello, my darling. Did you sleep well?" Minerva walked across the nursery to pick Ally out of her crib. The girl held her arms to her mother with a huge smile on her lips.

"Give mommy a kiss?"

Minerva got a wet kiss from her daughter before she went to the changing table.

"Now let me change your diaper first and then we go see your daddy in the kitchen huh?"
Ally giggled upon hearing her mommy mentioned her daddy. "Let us just hope that your daddy didn't burn down the whole manor."

After Ally was changed Minerva carried her down the stairs and walked straight into the kitchen where Albus was still preparing them dinner.

"Ahh, the love of my life and our lovely daughter." Albus bent down to kiss Ally on the head.

"Albus, the sauce is tripping from your spoon onto the floor... And look at the mess you have done!" Minerva said trying to look as stern as possible and not starting to laugh at her lover.

"When are your parents going to arrive?"

But before Albus could answer her question the front door could be heard opening.

"We are home!" The voice of Mrs. Dumbledore rang through the house. "Albus? Where are you?"

"In the kitchen, mother," Albus responded.

The footsteps got nearer and nearer both Albus and Minerva, who still have Ally in her arms, turned their heads in time to see Mr. and Mrs. Dumbledore walking through the kitchen door. Albus's mother was a tall woman with bright blue eyes, almost like her son's eyes. His father was a bit taller than his mother. He has dark blue eyes and a long beard.

"Hello, mother, father." Albus greeted her with a kiss on her cheek and a quick hug with his father.

"Oh- and who is this fine woman?" Mrs. Dumbledore asked as she made her way to Minerva.

"Good afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Dumbledore, I am Minerva McGonagall, nice to meet you." Minerva introduced herself as she held out her hand to them.

"Ah the Minerva McGonagall, so glad to finally meet you. Albus has mentioned you countless times. I am Kendra and this is my husband Percival. "

Minerva tried to hide her blush upon hearing Kendra's comment. Now she has gotten more comfortable around Albus' parents. They welcome her so warmly.

"And hello, my precious granddaughter. Come here, darling." Kendra took Ally from Minerva's arms and gave her granddaughter a big hug. Then she was passed on to her grandfather so he could hug her as well.

"Mama" Ally soon wants to be held by her mother again which made both of her grandparents chuckled.

"Definitely not daddy's girl," Percival said and handed her back to her mother. Albus rolled his eyes at his father.

After some moment the doorbell could be heard. "Oh- That must be my sister Beatrice. I have invited her for dinner tonight." Kendra made her way out of the kitchen to open the door.

After a moment Kendra returned with two other people behind her. A tall elderly witch with blondish-white hair and blue eyes. The other witch was younger, maybe the same age as Albus.

"Good afternoon everyone. Ahh- Albus how nice to see you again." Beatrice greeted her nephew with a warm hug.

"It's good to see you too. Aunt Beatrice, may I introduce you to Minerva McGonagall."

"Nice to meet you ma'am" Minerva held out her hand to the elderly woman.

"Nice to meet you too, dear. I am Beatrice Winters, but you can call me Beatrice." She gave Minerva a warm smile and then turned to Albus.

"Oh- Albus, do you remember Nancy, your childhood friend?"

"Of course, he does. Right Al?" Nancy winked at Albus as she came closer to kiss him upon his cheek. "Glad to see you again, Al," she said in a quiet tone.

Kendra and Percival who were standing there in the middle of the kitchen slowly turned their heads in Minerva's direction and observed her.

Minerva was taken aback by that woman's gesture towards her lover in front of everyone. Kendra made her way to where Minerva was standing with Ally still in her mother's arms and slowly rest her hand onto Minerva's back to assure the young woman that both she and her husband are on Minerva's side.
