A/N: This was requested by Booknerds910! It contains depiction of post-breakup-depression and loneliness, so if that's something that would bother you feel free to skip out reading.  It's all from Patton's perspective. Hope I did your request justice! (This is my first time writing a song-fic)

 "Logan? Have you seen-."

"In the dryer." Logan shouted back before Patton could even finish his sentence.

"Thank you."

Patton practically ran to the laundry room pulling out the shirt he had been looking for. It was a yellow t-shirt with a black snake logo on the front. Still warm, he hugged it to his chest. The warmth was soothing which Patton greatly appreciated. He desperately needed that comfort.

It had been eight months since they broke up, but Patton was still utterly heartbroken.

He slipped the shirt on and went back to the guest room.  He was thankful that Logan was letting him stay with him until he can afford his own place. He grabbed his phone off the charger and flopped down on the bed.  Patton scrolled through his phone and shuffled his music. When the first song came on, Patton's heart lurched.

I am lost in a rainbow

Now our rainbow is gone

Overcast by your shadow

As our worlds move on

"Our rainbow is gone..." Patton thought. He wanted to forget everything that he and Janus had said to each other all those months ago. It would be much easier to move on.

They definitely hadn't ended on great terms. It was hard to remember the details. Janus coming home later than usual... finding Virgil's hoodies around the house... yelling at each other for hours on end... Patton packing up his things and moving in with his good friend, Logan.  Even with eight months to heal, those memories brought back heart-wrenching pain.

In this shirt I can be you

To be near you for a while

In this shirt I can be you

To be near you for a while

Patton fiddled with the helm of Janus's shirt. Janus had given it to him a long time ago and must have forgotten to ask for it back when Patton was packing his things. Now it was the only piece of Janus he had left. Logan figured out the importance of the t-shirt and made sure to wash it every few days to keep it soft and clean.

That meant the world to Patton. He was extremely grateful to have such an amazing best friend.

There's a crane knocking down

All these things that we were

I awake in the night to

Hear the engines pout

Even though Logan did his best to make sure Patton was as comfortable as possible in the guest room, sleeping at night was almost impossible. He needed the warmth that Janus had provided. Now nights were cold and lonesome. Patton would have asked Logan to snuggle as friends, but he was sure Logan's boyfriend wouldn't like it.

There's a pain it does ripple

Through my frame makes me lame

There's a thorn in my side
