Outside the famous and luxurious inn at the heart of the marketplace, a stately Official carriage carrying the emblem of the Kingdom of Alyxzandryte could be seen in front of it.
It was already dawn and the first light of the day already appeared from the horizon two hours ago.
The morning sky above was already bright and the sun was already shining in its glory over the entire place under it.
And yet, a certain lady still couldn't be found in sight.
The veins on Arkus' head were already about to burst and Anjo was already sweating profusely beside him. Both were sitting inside the carriage as the dead silence reigned between them.
Lena has not yet returned.
Last night, Anjo waited for Lena to return and when two hours had already passed, he reported to Arkus that Lena couldn't be found.
However, Arkus couldn't be bothered at all. He thought that Lena has nothing else with her and if she was smart enough, she wouldn't run away right away. Thus, he told Anjo to stay still and don't search for the lady.
Anjo could do nothing against the wishes of his brother and could only comply and wait for Lena.
And when the first light of the day arrived, Arkus went out from his room, being well-rested. On the other hand, Anjo could be seen with a worn-out expression with dark bags under his eyes.
But Lena was still nowhere in sight.
Despite all the begging of Anjo, Arkus still insisted that Anjo should stay still. He only gave Anjo the grace to just wait inside the carriage.
However, they had been waiting for two hours now. And yet, Lena still couldn't be seen.
"Anjo, the lady must have run away," Arkus finally spoke. He was already at the end of his patience.
But much to Arkus' disappointment, so as Anjo.
"It couldn't be, Arkus!" Anjo finally snapped. "She wouldn't do that. She might be in trouble! I already told you that and yet you didn't even give a damn!" Anjo exclaimed. By the time he noticed that his tone of voice was a bit off than his usual gentle demeanor, Anjo has already shouted at Arkus.
For a moment, Arkus was a bit stunned by Anjo's sudden outburst, but then his face contorted in a grimace of hate and rage right away.
"Are you shouting at me, Anjo?" Arkus coldly asked.
"I... I was just —"
Bang!
Anjo flew out from the carriage onto the dusty ground with a loud bang.
"You must have thought that you can now be more courageous after being a big brother now," Arkus sneered.
Anjo quickly got up from the ground with a blank expression although he was writhing in pain inside. He had just been hit by Arkus' tyrannical fire elemental enchantment power.
Although the attack that had hit him was not on its full strength, it was enough to put a hole on his clothes and make his chest charred from it.
Anjo's enchantment power was lower than Arkus, thus, when it comes to an actual combat fight or a magical fight, there was no way he could win.
Arkus walked towards Anjo, and asked against his ears, "Was your conscience already been cleaned because our supposed to be dead sister has now come back?"
Anjo was suddenly rooted on the ground. His previous blank expression turned into fear and panic.
It was clear that Arkus has reminded him of some distant memories from the past.
