The Great Advisor narrowed his luminescent cold silvery eyes. He knew that his trust was already given to Lena without a doubt. For some reasons, even though he was completely unaware of who she really was, he couldn't seem to think negatively about Lena.
Besides, his life was truly saved by her. However, he was also aware that if he succumbed to every wish of Lena without a thought, it won't just make him lose his face and self-esteem as the Great Advisor of the Kingdom of Alyxzandryte, but also the affairs of the kingdom could even be affected, although not negatively.
That was why he must always be level-headed and just in his every word and action - even in the face of his savior.
There was only one solution to make things right.
Ranulf gently turned around and disappeared from the roof, but a voice not too far echoed through Lena's delicate ears. "Follow me."
Lena was slightly startled but she quickly regained her wits. She was aware that the kingdom's exalted Great Advisor was not someone simple. Although she wasn't yet able to see the hue of his aura, she knew that he was a powerful mage. To be able to conceal one's prowess and aura was already a great feat that only powerful mages could achieve.
Jumping off the tiled roof, Lena landed on the grassy ground with her bare feet. It slightly ticked the sole of her feet which made her senses more awakened than before. After all, she just woke up from her sleep.
Ranulf led Lena towards his courtyard, inside his study room. Other than the Great Advisor's subordinates, no one has ever set foot inside the exalted Great Advisor's study room. Not even the King.
Inside the rustic room, everything was immaculate. The bookshelves surrounding half of the room could be seen without a speck of dust and the books were all neatly arranged. Not even a space could be seen.
The study table, chairs, and other furniture were looking simple and humble, yet it was obvious that it was made from expensive woods. Marvelous scenic paintings were beautifully hanging on one side of the room. But what's more impressive in this room was the open door leading towards a refreshing bamboo garden with a small pond across it.
Lena couldn't help but sigh in appreciation.
The Great Advisor surely is a humble person. His way of living is simple yet refined.
She was pleased that the person he saved was not engaged in a worldly pursuit. After all, most of the powerful people could not maintain a simple and humble life.
Lena was cut off from her train of thoughts when Ranulf sat down on a chair right in front of the open door. He spoke with his usual cold but gentle voice, "Please take a seat." Lena complied without saying anything.
"As I spoke about earlier during the banquet, I will admit you in Brilliant Crystal Academy." Great Advisor Ranulf said as he slightly waved his hand. Then, out of nowhere, a tea set has appeared at the table in front of them.
Lena, with her eyebrow, slightly raised, turned her gaze towards the Great Advisor, ignoring the tea set. She spoke, "I don't mind going to the Academy, however, we still haven't concluded the thing that I was asking a while ago."
The Great Advisor elegantly poured Lena a cup of freshly brewed hot tea before pouring one for himself.
"Admitting you in the Academy will give you access to what you're looking for," he calmly said.
"And how's that?"
"Aside from the Royal Library, historical records, old manuscripts, and other important books can be found in the Academy's Grand Library."
