Chapter 21 - The Light

Hasu POV

We watch as Sai collects his ink mice, giving him intel on the bridge and the surrounding area.

Standing, he turns to us, "There's no presence of anyone around the Tenchi Bridge yet."

Yamato crosses his arms, "Well, I guess that rules out one thing; there's no Akatsuki ambush."

I nod, "Alright, then that means we'll proceed according to the plan."

Naru-chan nods, "Right."

Yamato slips out a photo, giving it to Naru-chan, "Here, Naruto, could you take this picture and hold it up in front of me?"

Doing as he says, Yamato shouts, "Wood style transformation."

Wood wraps around him with a large poof, resulting in his new appearance as a fallen Akasuki member. Doing a quick voice check, his voice molds into the man he's disguised as. Getting into our positions, we watch from afar, counseling our chakra.

Sensing the figure on the other side, I speak up, "He's here."

Watching the cloaked figure, Yamato appears in his disguise, making his way to the middle of the bridge. The two stand before each other, the hidden figure reveals his face, Kabuto. As they chat, a creepy chakra spikes close by.

I whisper, "Sakura, Sai, Naru-chan, keep your guard up. I sense another presence."

They look at me wide-eyed, "Whatever you do stick to the plan, don't attack or move until the signal is given. I don't think they'll attack. They're just watching, to it's safe to assume that they're with Kabuto."

"Wait, there walking closer to them, don't move, don't attack."

Seeing Orochimaru appear I glare, Kabuto and Yamato stand in front of Orochimaru. Tension fills the air, we're ready to engage in battle. Kabuto then raises his hand, covered in Chakra, slicing Yamato's clone.

He tries to flee only for Orochimaru to cover him in a web of snakes. Thankfully he used a substitution Jutsu and landed safely. Seeing his cover is blown, they continue to chat, as Yamato sucks out as much information on the matter as possible.

Giving his signal we appear in front of him, feeling Naru-chan's anger, I grow worried but focus on the task at hand. See Orochimaru's stares at me maliciously. Licking his lips he smiles, "I'll have to collect a sample from you, Hasu~."

Feeling creeped out, I wonder how he knew my name, pushing the thought away he angers Naru-chan making him sneer. "Give Sasuke back. You give him back." Looking over, I frown, his anger taking over, and I don't think Oto-san can't hold him back. Watching a cloak of chakra form, Kabuto continues to piss Naru-chan off.

"Naruto."

Orochimaru smirks, "If you really want to know about Sasuke, then I'm afraid you're just going to have to force it out of me. If you think you're up to it~."

He continues to bubble, breaking the bridge he speeds over to Orochimaru, knocking him off the bridge. He glares at Kabuto, standing up straight I watch Naru-chan's movements.

I call out his name once again softly, "Naruto."

Orochimaru approaches from the forest, making Naru-chan sneer. He looks up, "You're starting to act more like a Jinchuriki, aren't you, boy?"

Revealing his broken face, my skill crawls.

"Now, I see."

He walks back on the bridge, making his way toward us slowly. Naru-chan shakes his tail, focusing on his stalking figure. He stops, "That's why he was chosen to be your watchdog, yes? See some of my experiments came in handy after all. Honestly, the Leaf Village really ought to be more grateful to me."
