Hasu POV

Later that night I went to look for Naru-chan, seeing his calm figure I take him back to the house. The next day we all got up bright and early, while the others trained to control there Chakra I continued to spy on Gato. Throughout my spying sessions, I was able to find a vault, weapon area, and various rooms for Gato's little helpers.

The day before the suspected attack of Zabuza I make sure Naru-chan sleeps early for the upcoming battle. While the others were asleep I stayed up, writing a letter for Jiji. It took longer than expected but once I sent it out I crashed.

No POV

The next morning Hasu is fast asleep, while the others were eating breakfast Kakashi allowed her sleep in. Proud of Hasu, he feels as though she deserves to sleep in due to all the hard work she done. Leaving her behind she wakes up feeling two familiar chakra signatures coming towards the house. Quickly getting dressed, she rushes downstairs to see Inari standing protectively in front of his mother.

"LEAVE HER ALONE!"

Before they could strike him she jumps behind them, pushing their heads together as hard as she can, knocking them out in the process. Inari and his mother start to calm down, kneeling down to Inari's she pats his head. "You did a good job of protecting your mother! Keep up the good work, while my friends and I take care of Gato."

With that, she leaves rushing to the bridge as fast as she can. Making it just in time she rushes between her team and Zabuza. Glaring at her, she stands straight, "I have a proposition for you Zabuza."

Confusion becomes present of his face as he stands straight, lowering his sword.

"I'm listening."

Smirking she starts to explain, "I've been doing some digging of Gato, you and I both know that he isn't paying you. Whether you win or not. His plan from the beginning was to weaken you, so his lackeys can outnumber you when you're low on chakra. Knowing this, let's have a temporary partnership and take him down. Not only will he be out of the picture you will be paid, leaving, and living with what you want."

Looking at his partner, he smirks at her.

"I like you, smarter then a lot of brats I've come across...We're in."

They share a scary aura around them, putting her hand on her hip she tilts her head a bit.

"All we have to do is put on a good show."

Throwing a kunai, she misses purposely. The 'battle' continues, throwing attacks at each other they make sure not to go too hard. Soon enough Gato shows up with his gang, thinking there weakened he starts to go off how about his plan. Seeing that Hasu was right Zabuza grows angry. Gato sweats as he realizes something's off.

Without a second thought Zabuza and Haku attack Gato with the help of Naruto and Hasu's many shadow clones. With Gato dead, his gang starts to grow weary, the villagers come through the mist, running them out of there home for good.

Smiling, Hasu walks over to Kakashi, asking for the key she gladly gives it to her. She rushes to Gato's hideout, sees that it's deserted she walks over to the vault she opens to see mountains of money. Putting some in a medium-sized bag she puts it in a separate scroll for Zabuza. The rest she splits up in several schools for the village. The vault is soon empty as she runs out with bags of money in a couple of scrolls.

Rushing back she stands in front of Zabuza and Haku, handing him a scroll she smiles. "Here you go." Opening it he seems shocked by a large amount of money, putting it back in the scroll he looks down at the little black girl. "This is more than enough, thanks, kid."

She nods, "No problem. I wish both of you well."

They nod, before disappearing in the dying mist. Hasu then rushes over to Tazuna. Giving him 5 scrolls she gives him a warm smile, "This should be enough to help get everyone and thing back on their feet." Understanding what it is he nods, the others celebrate Gato's death. While Hasu and Naruto smile at each other Inari jumps on the two. "Naru-ni! Hasu-ne!" He starts to cry, "I'm so sorry! Thank you for saving us!"

Hasu smiles down at him while Naruto ruffles his hair.

With the help of the many bridge builders and Team 7, the bridge was done in no time. All that was left was naming it. While Inari, his mother, and Tazuna wanted the Great Hasu Bridge, Hasu herself politely disagreed.

"I think it should be named after the future Hokage, The great Naruto Bridge has a better ring to it~."

With that, they agreed, and the bridge became a monument for all the villagers. Even though it was named after the energetic blond, they will always remember and tell of the kindness of the brown skin girl who came to them with warmth and aid.

The team returns home, going there separate ways Hasu puts her stuff away before rushing to her and Shikamaru's cloud watching spot. When she gets there she already sees the dark-haired boy watching the sky above.

Hearing her soft footsteps he looks up to see her, they lay down together to enjoy their presence silence. It lasted a while before Shikamaru asked, "How was your mission." Wasting no time, she tells him everything. This story lasts for a while but by the end of it, her stomach grumbles loudly. Standing up, Shikamaru holds out his hand for her. "Let's go get a snack at my place."

She gladly takes it as he leads her to his house, halfway he realizes that he's still holding her hand. Blushing he lets it go nervously making Hasu giggle. Once they get there, they munch on a small snack in pure peaceful bliss.

Afterward, Shikamaru gets up walking off. Hasu follows him until they make it to the back yard, next to the door lays a board game. Looking at her he asks, "Want to play Shogi with me?" Not knowing what is was she nods, "Sure but you got to explain the rules to me."

Nodding they sit across from each other with the board in between them. He explains the rules to her, understanding, she relates it to a similar to a game she played with Jiji back at home.

They play for hours, with each match leaving a tie. While Hasu stays calm, Shikamaru starts to visibly show his frustration. His parents watch the two from afar, shocked to see there usually lazy and laid back son actually frustrated. Looking at the girl he plays with they look at her curiosity, wondering who she was. As the sun goes down, the victory is finally chosen.

While his parents couldn't see he sighs, "What a drag."

They finally make their presence know, his mother speaks up. Looking at the game their eyes widen as they see that their son was soundly defeated. Hasu looks up giving them a small wave, Shikamaru looks at his parent's faces and begins to explain.

"We've been playing since lunch, we've been getting draws all day but in the end, she beat me."

Standing she bows slightly, "Nice to meet you, my name is Hasu!" Looking at Shikamaru their eyes meet, giving him a warm smile she says, "Let's play again soon." This makes him blush, his mom squeals while his father smirks at the love blooming before him.

His mom noticed the sun going down she looks at Shikamaru, "It's getting late, Shikamaru be a dear and walk her home." Getting up he nods, walking with Hasu out of the backyard. Once again his parents are slightly shocked by the fact he didn't complain or express how much of a drag it would be. Deep down they both knew that Hasu was someone special.
