Iceland

I was riding my bike through the hills and forests, Lienchenstein's house was further away from the sea. He lived in a cottage with his family.

I spend most of my life near the water so it was a nice change of space for me. I breathed in the earthy smell of the ground and leaves. It was amazing.

Liechtenstein is way balder and loud so I was a little scared of meeting up with him. I remember how weirdly he asked me to hang out. He was trying to be brave but also he was extremely anxious.

We were in the salon getting ready to close. I was going to put my broom down when I heard his voice.

- H-hey! Iceland!

I looked behind my shoulder and saw him playing with his fingers looking straight at me. I couldn't quite pinpoint his expression. He was smirking but his brows were placed in a way like he was about to cry or have a breakdown.

- You don't have to scream Liechtenstein, we are literally like...a meter away from each other

- Y-yea...sorry

He blushed and laughed awkwardly while scratching his arm.

- ...

- ...

We started at each other blankly. The awkwardness could be literally felt physically.

- so-

- WOULD YOU LIKE TO COME TO MY HOUSE AND PLAY SMASH BROS?!

I was stunned, I think I literally took a few steps back. Not only because he literally screamed in my face, but also because nobody asked me to come to hang out before.

I was always the shy, self-isolated kid that everyone made fun of and bullied. I bet Lin is so much more popular than me. He even said he will steal his dad's scooter for us. Who wouldn't like that guy?

So of course I couldn't say no.

And here we are, I'm almost at the house, of the coolest person I know. I could see his cottage in the distance. It was really pretty. They had a huge garden right next to the forest. Benches were standing everywhere. I also noticed a few swings and a treehouse.

I drove up to the house and placed my bike next to the garage door. I walked up the stairs and looked at the doorbell. It looked rusty and was a little crumbly under my finger. I pressed it.

DING-DING-DONG-DING

I stepped away from the door and waited. I could hear voices and rumble behind the door. Then eventually, a few quick footsteps and the door opened.

- Swiss move away they came to me!

I heard that, and everything around me slowed down.

I glanced at the figure opening the door but they haven't looked at me yet. His red skin, perfectly cut hair, white t-shirt, and black jeans.

THE       BANDAID       ON         HIS         NOSE

He looked at me, his pupils getting smaller. The grin on his face turned into a frown. I saw his mouth move slowly.

- You.

At the same moment, he got pushed away and another figure popped up in front of him.

- Iceland!

I blinked and looked at Liechtenstein. He was nothing like his brother, his messy hair just like mine. The warm smile on his face and the baggy clothing he was wearing.
