Chapter Six

I swear I saw her move.
I leaned in towards Juliette.
And stared.
And stared.
And stared.
And stared.
And stared.
And stared.
And stared.
And stared.
And stared.
And stared.
And stared.
And stared.
I think I stared for 2 hours.
Castle came and took me out of my trance.
"WARNER," he screamed.
I shook my head.
"Why are you yelling at me?" I ask
"Because I've been talking to you for the past hour and you haven't replied. You've been staring at Juliette," he says with an annoyed tone in his voice.
I blush and look away from him.
I start to stare at Juliette again.
Castle slaps my back.
"QUIT IT WARNER," he screams into my ear.
"I saw her move Castle. I did," I confess.
He raises both of his eyebrows. A concerned look covers his face.
"Warner, she's been in the exact same position since I left her. Everything looks the same. Her lips look a little warmer though. Have you been-"
I cut him off.
"CASTLE! I AM A GENTLEMAN! I WOULD NOT KISS AN UNCONSCIOUS LADY!" I spit at him.
"Warner, I think you need sleep. Or coffee. Either one," he tells me.
I call Delalieu and ask him to bring me some coffee. He asks me to meet him outside so that he can discuss some private issues with me. I nod and follow him into the hallway.
He hands me a mug of coffee. He opens his mouth to speak, but just as he's about to talk, the sirens go off.
Rebels are in the building.
I dismiss Delalieu and tell him to go take shelter.
I run into my room and hand Castle a gun and my coffee .
"Stay in here. Guard Juliette. Make sure nobody comes in the room."
He nods.
I run and grab my jacket and guns.
I take a last glance at Juliette and Castle and shut the door.
I'm ready for battle.

I kneel in my pre-planned spot, waiting for someone to kill. Nobody comes.
Five minutes pass.
Ten minutes pass.
Thirty minutes pass.
I hear footsteps. I get my gun ready.
I can't see anyone coming.
"RELAX EVERYONE. HOLD YOUR FIRE. IT'S ME, KENJI." He makes himself visible again.
"Kenji!" I say loud enough for him to hear. "What are you doing? This is a battle! You can't just run around in the middle of it while screaming your name!"
He demands for us all to come out of our areas, and we do, but we don't drop our guns as a precaution. Then he begins to talk.
"Sector 25 just called in," he explains. "Apparently some people broke into their head building and demanded to know where our headquarters was. They refused to tell them and killed them. The alarms sounded because one rebel broke in. Very smart that one. He made it all the way up here alone. I killed him though, so no worries."
We all lower our guns.
"I think we should look around. Just in case," suggests Sarah.
We all call the corridors we're going to look in. I grab my gun and head to the floor that I'm supposed to check. I take the stairs down to the lowest floor, right beside the entrance of the building.
I sneak around form corner to corner, looking in all directions for any movement. After thirty minutes, I see no motion and no bodies, so I take the stairs back up to where we're supposed to meet.
Sarah and Kent arrive a few seconds after I get to our meeting spot.
"Where's Sonya and Kenji?" asks Sarah.
We look around and see a figure running at us. I raise my gun, but Sonya becomes visible shortly. I put my gun down.
"I found the body of the rebel that Kenji shot. Shouldn't Delalieu have taken it away by now?" she asks while gasping for air.
Where the hell is Delalieu?
Kenji comes running from behind and startles me. I curse as he slaps his hands on my back.
"Delalieu. Alive. His arm. Shot. And Castle. He's been attacked. He's on the floor. Breathing, but pulse slowing. Come fast," he says while gasping for air.
We all exchange a glance and run towards my room.

"Delalieu, what happened? Who shot you?" I ask in a demanding tone.
He looks up at me.
"The rebel that made it to the floor. You dismissed me and I ran to go take shelter, but he saw me and shot me. He missed my heart and got my arm, but gosh this hurts." he says while glancing towards his arm.
Sarah and Sonya kneel over him and fix
him up. He manages to get up with a wound similar to mine, except on his right arm.
Kenji was kneeling over Castles body.
"GUYS COME ON!" he screams.
Sarah and Sonya go towards Castle. They ask us all to leave the room, and we do. Kent and I have to grab Kenji by each arm to get him to come outside with us.
We stand outside the door for a good half hour until Sonya opens the door.
"He's awake," she says.
We all run in, Kenji pushing through all of us to get there first.
"Castle! Man, thank God you're okay," he says relieved.
Castle stares at all of us and bites his lip.
"I saw the person," he says in a tone mixed with fear and relief. "I know who's the one responsible for attacking Juliette and Adam and myself."
"CASTLE! YOU'RE A GODDAMN HERO! WHO IS IT?" screams Kenji.
"It's-" he pauses and takes a deep breath.
And then he faints again.
