The night is starting and finally, after sneaking from your parents' house, you arrived at your destination. Wearing your red velvet ball gown, you jumped out of the carriage before facing your personal butler with a very worried look on his face. Obviously, when your mother learns about this, he will get scolded by you. Much worse, fired. But being the only daughter of L/N's House, you won't let it happen.
"M-Madam..."
"Don't worry, Drew. I'm coming back safe, okay? This is just a ball."
He sighed. "Please come back before midnight."
"Yup!" You thumbs up-ed. "Promise!"
Walking inside the hall, you started wearing your red mask, totally pairing with your outfit. All in all, you look stunning. No one recognizes you, thank God, not just because you're wearing a mask but because you finally let go of your nerdy look. You usually wear simple dresses when you're at home and with glasses, wearing simple slippers and no makeup at all.
But here you are, shouting with elegance, totally dropping the disguise.
You took a deep breath. "Here we go..."
The main reason why you joined this party, is because it was held by the Magic Knights association and your long time crush, the captain of Golden Dawn, William Vangeance, is finally back from his two-month mission. You wanted to see him at a close-up look and you are secretly hoping, you might be able to steal a dance tonight with him.
Friday night and the lights are low. Looking out for a place to go...
People suddenly started dancing in the middle, asking their partners out until some stranger grabbed your left hand, leading you to the floor. It wasn't a nasty dance though, he's in a mask too yet he started side stepping in front of you. To avoid awkwardness, you followed the flow of music with a smile on your lips.
Getting in the swing, You come to look for a king...
"May I get your name?"
You blushed at the question. Err, what if he recognizes you?! When you were about to answer, someone tapped you back, only to see the masked captain behind.
Holy watermelon and banana split with vanilla and chocolate ice creams on top!
"May I ask for a dance?"
You muttered something under my breath, probably a demon summoning ritual, you don't know! Your heart is beating so damn fast and your face is probably very red. Not knowing what to answer, you just took his hand before he slid his arms on your waist, and on a swift movement, you are back in the middle, and as if on cue, the spotlight is just on the both of you.
All the people started watching the little yet romantic scene and they can't help but stare in awe.
The two of you got too comfortable with each other, sharing stories and you, mindlessly falling harder in love with this man. You learned that he's very matured just at the age of nineteen and he's such a great captain on his squad at a very young age.
"William, do you know that I like you?"
What in the world did I just tell him?!
You were getting too comfortable to the point you are unable to stop your words. Your eyes grew bigger, slowly stopping from your dance. You started shaking and thinking of many ways to run and escape this mess. Should you jump out of the window? From the main entrance? Or will the ground open to swallow you up?!
"A, E, I, O, U..." You don't know what to say any more until you heard William chuckling, scratching the back of his neck, shy at your sudden confession.
"At least tell me your name first," He smiled. Yeah, right. How could I be that stupid?!
"I-I'm Y/N, from the House of L/N."
"I see. Now, about that confession..."
He smirked before sliding his arms around your waist once more, earning a blush and a squeal from you.
"Let's see what I could do about that."
