All the captains bowed before you, acknowledging your presence. You, glittering in a white, very beautiful gown with a simple tiara on top, placed a hand on your chest before bowing your head a little.
"I am so pleased to be here," You answered politely.
Everything was going smoothly, you were summoned to the capital to attend a simple ball made for all authorities of the Clover Kingdom. You're the queen of the Heart Kingdom yet they still invited you for this occasion. Both kingdoms are planning to join hands for defeating the devil. You move very queenly yet you have a very strong and impenetrable power.
The ball is starting and you're only talking with the Magic Emperor the whole time.
That's when your eyes caught a certain captain, with such beautiful scars on his face. You can hear Julius talking about different powers he has seen before yet it feels like you can't understand a word. Your eyes are just nailed on that captain's laughing figure while drinking his wine, talking with his squad members. You saw him a while ago with his mask yet his face behind is much more beautiful to see.
He's so handsome...
William, the captain you're looking at, gestured an excuse at his members before walking towards the terrace of the venue.
An idea popped up in your mind.
"U-Uhm, may I excuse myself for a while, Julius?"
The Wizard King smiled genuinely. "Please, enjoy the night."
"My pleasure."
That's the cue to exit the scene. With that, you made a very swift movement and the next thing you know, you're on the terrace too. You are shaking, nervous. You haven't spoken to a stranger before, much more, to be the first one to start a conversation.
"Excuse—"
"Your Highness," You were surprised when he suddenly bowed before you.
Holy, he's so attractive...
"Oh, I forgot to wear my mask."
The captain hurriedly grabbed his accessory and as he was about to wear it, you raised your hand in front of him.
"Please, I don't mind." You look better without that.
He blushed. "A-Are you sure, Your Majesty?"
Smiling genuinely, you nodded. "Yes. Can I ask for your name?"
"William," he held out his hand. "William Vangeance at your service."
Accepting his hand, you felt it was very warm and soft. Blushing at the contact, you averted your gaze before looking at the stars above. The scene was magical. The both of you, alone on the terrace, under a thousand shining stars. The wind is blowing, adding effects for the story.
It such nice timing to have a conversation with a great captain.
"I love your scars," you started, bluntly. He blushed a little before smiling at your remark, looking at the stars above too.
"I really appreciate it, Your Majesty—"
"It's Y/N," you interrupted. "Drop the honorifics."
"S-Sure, Y/N..."
"So, what's your magical attribute? I am kinda interested, especially when the Magic Emperor talked about powers all the time."
The both of you chuckled.
"Would you mind accompanying me to the backyard? I can show you."
The backyard is full of beautiful and tall trees, a perfect place to show off his magic tricks at you. William isn't familiar with this feeling, getting interested in someone and all, yet he doesn't know why he's trying his best to look good in front of you.
"I mean if you just want to."
"Of course!" You cheered like a kid. "I would love to see it!"
William smiled as your heart hammered wildly inside your chest. Is this, is this love at first sight? Who knows? You haven't felt it before. Getting mesmerized by his actions, especially his greatest flaw, for you, it's his best asset. All in all, you can feel a very kind and alluring aura radiating from him and you can't help but get attached easily.
He held out his hand as you accepted it willingly.
You bit your lip.
For this night, I don't want to be a queen. I just want to be a normal person, enough for William.
[ BONUS PART ]
At the Golden Dawn base,
Months flew by and your relationship with William is starting to get a little intimate. William will sometimes stop by at your palace and his squad members are starting to notice his absence at the base.
"Where's the Captain?" It was Langris.
"At the Heart Kingdom again, I guess," said Klaus.
"I noticed something, Klaus-san."
"What's that, Mimosa?"
"The Queen and the Captain are getting along so much. Are they, you know, couple?"
Then all that can be heard are whispers coming from the other members. That's when Klaus laughed at Mimosa's remark.
"It'll be enchanting to see how things are going to turn out for their story!"
Mimosa squealed. "I'm rooting for them. After all, the Queen is beautiful and our Captain is so good looking!"
"I can't disagree anymore."
