Epilogue
I flew down a back road in my Porsche convertible. The wind whipped through my hair. Cherry blossoms floated in the air around me, stirred by my car. It was spring, and I was back in Japan. Sugawara and Daichi had invited me to a reunion for the volleyball club. That was nice of them, considering I had never actually been at Karasuno long enough to go to a tournament. But the people on that team...they had left a mark on my soul, and it was in the shape of a heart. I had missed them. A lot.
It was 1:47. We were to meet at Karasuno's gym at two. My stomach fluttered. For some reason, I was nervous to see everyone again. What if they had forgotten me entirely? I slowed down. I was close to the high school. I pulled into the lot in front of the school and parked my car. The bell rang from inside the school. A few seconds later, the first students began to come out of the building. I stepped out and locked the doors, looking at my outfit. A long-sleeved, purple, floral-print sundress that fell just below my knees. My clear heels made me a few inches taller, and they matched my cross-body bag. Hopefully I wasn't over dressed. It was nice, but comfortable.
"Who's that? She's so pretty!" I turned around. A student had been watching me and shaking her friend's arm, trying to get her attention. Her eyes widened; she recognized me. Her friend turned around. I waved.
"Oh my god! That's (L/N) (F/N)! Why didn't you tell me sooner?!" I smiled at them. "Should we go over?"
"Probably not, I don't want to bother her right now..."
"Oh. Then I won't."
"Well, I'd do it if you did."
"Then what are you waiting for?!" They came over. "Um...hi! Are you (Y/N)?"
"Yes, I am! What are your names?"
The first girl answered. "I'm Hayashi! This is Saito. We're really big fans of yours!"
They look so excited. "Aw, thank you! What year are you in?"
This time, Saito answered. "We're second years, but I was moved up a grade, so I'm a year younger than everyone else."
"Wow! You must be really smart." She blushed and looked away.
"Oh! Thanks! I mean, I'm not THAT smart..." Saito looked embarrassed.
I laughed. "Yes, you are! You both are!"
Hayashi spoke. "Sorry for bothering you, but...could we maybe take a picture with you? It's alright if you don't want to, though."
"You aren't bothering me at all! Of course I'd take a picture with you!"
Saito took out her phone. We all squished together to get in the frame. "3...2...1!" She counted down and pressed the shutter button. "Thank you so much! Is it okay if I post it on my Instagram?"
"Sure! Can you airdrop it to me? It should be under (Y/N)'s iPhone."
"O-of course!" She sent it to me and I accepted the request. "Thank you so much! It was nice meeting you!"
"It was nice meeting you, too! Have a great rest of your day!"
"Thanks! You too!"
I walked around to the back of the school. The sun felt pleasantly warm on my neck. A cool breeze blew from the east. As I approached it, I heard people talking inside the gym. My stomach did a flip. Before my mind could make any last minute decisions, I pushed open the door. The room fell silent.
"(Y/N)?!!!!!!!!!!" I found the familiar voice.
"NISHINOYA!!!!!!" He ran over to me and almost tackled me in a hug. "I missed you so much!!!"
