"Holly! Get your butt down here right this minute!" yelled my mom. What did I do?
"Yes mom?" I asked sweetly with a smile. She just gave me an even dirtier look.
"What kind of contest did you enter?" she asked with a letter in her hand.
"What?! Did I win?!" I ran over to her and grabbed the letter out of her hand and ripped it open. I read it out loud with my voice getting louder and louder with every word I read:
Dear Holly Mooney,
You have won a spot in 'I survive with a celebrity' Congratulations! At 5 o'clock tonight you will have a Skype chat with the manager of the group you are being placed with. Don't miss it or else we will pick someone else.
Sincerely,
Chad Waters
"Mom! I won! Oh my god! I'm going to be in the first ever celebrity competition show!" this day has been amazing!
"Congratz Holls! Hopefully your father won't be to mad at you for entering the competition without his approval." my mom said pitifully. Shoot! I forgot about my dad.
"You better butter him up before you tell him about it." motherly advice was always good, so I'm going to make this place spotless. As I looked at the clock it read 10:30. I have 5 and a half hours till my dad gets home and 6 and a half hours till the Skype call. Better get cleaning.
It's been 5 hours since I first started cleaning and now the house is spotless. Now, a half an hour to look presentable to impress my dad and whomever I am skyping with later.
I put on my white skinny jeans with a floral top and brown belt. I wouldn't need shoes so I just painted my toe nails with flowers all over them. Did I mention I love doing nails? Well I do. Next I curled my hair and put a light layer of makeup on. Finally, my favorite locket with a picture of my mom and little sister in it. I miss them so much.
During my look over of myself I heard my dad’s car pull up. I was suddenly getting nervous. What was I going to say? 'I didn't ask you permission but I kind of entered a contest where I'm going to be with celebrities on a TV show for about two months, if I make it that far. So please let me go?' actually that didn't sound too bad.
Walking towards my dad’s office was like walking to the principal’s office. Not knowing what was going to happen. I knocked on his door after I got the courage and walked in. He looked up from his work and folded his hands together.
"So Holly, what brings you here?" he asked as if I was his business partner. That always made me mad and then I would start yelling but, I wanted this once in a life time opportunity.
"Well I kind of entered a contest and won."
"That's it?" he didn't look impressed but that wasn't all.
"Well no. I entered a contest where I would be spending time with celebrities for about two months and it would be a big competition to see who can make it farther with singing. With the celebrities help, of course." I hope I presented my case well enough for my dad.
"Hmm. What is the prize?" now my dad was interested, if there was a prize but of course there was one.
"To go on tour with a group of your choice, well my choice."
"You think you’re a good enough singer to win this? Because I know your sister is quite good and-"
"This is for me! Not Makayla! She's not the most important person in your life!" I yelled. At this point i was pissed AND I was going in this contest no matter what.
"I'm going no matter what you say now good bye!" I slammed the door on the way out and went to my room for the Skype call. My mom came in and looked at me with a sympathetic look.
"He only cares about her." I muttered under my breath.
"He does care about you. It's just he doesn't want to lose her again." I know she was trying to explain it the best she could but it just didn't work. Before I could respond the ring of the Skype call started going off. I clicked answer and Simon Cowell popped up on the screen.
