"Okay, you say it's my life and I can decide what to do with it. Then listen up, don't like Ian."
"Huh? What?"
"I say, don't like Ian," he repeats.
"Why? Just...why?" I look at him.
"Because... I will like you from now on."✌︎︎ ᗴᑎᗪ Oᖴ ᖴᒪᗩᔕᕼᗷᗩᑕK ✌︎︎
I'm still not sure what just happened but Aaron clearly said it. At this point, I'm not sure if he's serious or joking. For the past few days, I do care about Aaron, but it's because I don't like to see him suffer. Does he perhaps misunderstood my intention or is the thing I'm doing means I'm interested in him? I'm not sure how I will face him later at dinner.
✌︎︎
"Sweetie, I heard you invited your friends over for baking. Why aren't they staying for dinner?" My mom asks.
"Something came up so we didn't get to bake, that's why they are not here," I come up with an excuse.
"Oh, make sure they are here next time. I want to see my daughter's friends," my mom sounds excited.
"So Aaron, how was shopping with Krystal?" Aunt Ava asks him.
"Nothing new," he says.
"I'm pretty sure she will visit you again tomorrow," Aunt Ava continued.
"I'm not surprised," he takes the last egg roll.Aaron acts as if nothing happened, why am I the only one that feels awkward about this or can't forget it. He acts as if he's not the one who makes me feel this way. I'm so confused.
✌︎︎
After dinner, I decide to walk around the backyard. This backyard looks the best when it's night, especially for a party. We sometimes celebrate things here like birthdays and events. I have so many good memories here, I think it's also one of the reasons why I like to come by when I have time.
"Noisy," Aaron calls me from behind.
I turn around, "now you talk to me?"
"Why? You expect me to say something from the dinner table?"
"Well, I thought you almost forgot who I am," I stop at the chair swing and sit.
"I bet you can't sleep tonight," he also sits.
"Why can't I?"
"Because of me," he smiles.
I laugh, "HA! Why can't I sleep because of you? You are talking nonsense."
"It's not nonsense though," he says.
"Uh-huh... sure.."
"It's not," he turns to me, "I'm not joking."
We both stare at each other until I say, "do you hate Ian?"
"Why are you mentioning him? I'm not in the mood."
"I feel like you hate him because he's in that family," I say.
"You think so? We used to be friends when we were young, and our fathers were work friends. It's a loss that we didn't notice his family intention, backstab."
"So because of what happened, you and Ian drift apart?"
"It's not that we drift apart, there's no such thing as friendship to me and him since that incident. There's no meaning to see each other."
"But, I feel like Ian is a strong person. He works and takes care of his sister. Also, he has a nice personality too. He grew up well," I smile.
Aaron looks at me, "do you like him that much?"
"Yes, as a friend."
"That word friend again, just an excuse," he says.
"What do you mean excuse? I mean what I say, there's no other way to interpret it."
"Then what about me? What do you think of me?" He asks.
I pause and think, "Um..."
"You have to think about that? Why? What's wrong about me?"
"Aaron, you are like that type of person who I want to understand more but at the same time, I can't. You are just undefined," I give him a curious look.
"Undefine? You are saying that I have no meaning to you? Yet, you act as if you care about me yesterday," he let out a big sigh.
"Of course I care about you, I can't ignore someone who's hurt. It also hurts me."
"Hurt you?" He asks.
"Yeah, it's funny, isn't it? It's not about me or anything, but I always take things like this as if it's my problem."
"Thanks to you yesterday, I got to say something to my father. I told him that I will be...alright. I hope my words deliver to him," he looks up.
"Good, see? I know that there's a way to help you. I'm glad you did that," I look at him.
"Noisy, that's why...you are just Noisy. No matter how much I want to ignore you and your words, it just keeps coming back to me. Just like a noisy bell."
"Are you calling me annoying?"
"No, it means I just can't forget you. You keep coming back into my head, and ring that noisy bell, you," he looks at me.
"Hey Aaron, when did you learn how to say something like that. So unlike you."
"Exactly...I must be out of my mind. I hate annoying things but somehow, I'm interested in the noisy bell," he looks at me again.
"Am I your noisy bell?" I ask.
"Of course, starting right now. So be there for me when I need you, just like a noisy bell."
"You can't just order me like that..." I tell him.
"It's a favor, I think I will need you. You can't help me? I thought you say you can't stand to see others suffer. Was that just an excuse?"
"No, no, well...I feel like you have other people too so why did it have to be me."
"Who are those people you are talking about?" He asked.
"Well..like maybe that friend of yours, Krystal."
He laughs, "Krystal? No way, she wouldn't be my noisy bell. Didn't I tell you that I'm interested in the noisy bell? You are slow, don't you? You don't even get what I mean when I'm telling you my feelings for the second time."
"Um...I'm going in now. I'm...well...like I'm a little tired, see you." I walk fast to avoid this situation.
"Hey! Noisy! Where are you going looking shy..." he laughs.
