"So Luna, have you decided on the camping trip yet?" My mom asks as we are eating breakfast.
"I think I will ask my boss for a few days off," I tell her.
"Is that okay with your boss?" She looks concerned.
"I don't think he will mind, plus he said that if there's anything to ask for, don't hesitate to tell him."
"That's good, we will be going 2 days later, as early as possible just in case one of us gets busy. Ask your boss for 3 days off," my mom says.
"I will keep that in mind," I smile.
"So you are going, I thought you are a workaholic," Aaron walks in and sits down.
"I deserve to have fun," I say in a sarcastic tone.
"Good for you," he chins up.
Aunt Ava laughs, "you two are just meant to be."
"No," I say.
"You think so, mom?" Aaron's eyes lit up.
"Luna, is there something with my son that you don't like? I know he can be childish sometimes but.." Aunt Ava pauses, "he also can make you happy too."
"I don't want to give you the wrong idea, but nothing is going on with me and Aaron," I try to clarify.
"Are you sure? I hug you the other day," Aaron interrupts.
"Hey!" I say.

Aunt Ava and my mom laugh.

"This is why you two are just meant to be. Trust me, you two can argue all you want but one day.... either of you has to give up. Why? It's like that about relationships, you can be the first one to admit defeat but guess what, the person who does not give in yet is the loser," Aunt Ava says.
"True, although if one of you don't like each other yet, but if you keep seeing each other every day then I bet one day when you lose each other, you will realize how much you yearn and miss them," my mom smiles.
I swallow my food carefully, "you two sound like a matchmaker."
Aaron laughs, "right? But what do we do Noisy? I'm loving this so much knowing that mom and Aunt Sarah got our back."
I look at him, "you... anyways I'm going. See you all later," I walk out.

𝗕𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘆

"Yo, yesterday night there was a kidnap incident in my neighborhood," Evelyn shares.
"Is the victim safe?" I ask.
"The police are still investigating, but I heard two young girls got kidnapped. They are about our age. I hope everything will be alright," Evelyn holds her hands tightly.
"You should be careful and don't let your guard down, don't walk home late. It's in your neighborhood so there's a chance the  kidnapper will come back."
"Ooh, hearing this makes me get goosebumps," Evelyn shakes her head.
"What's wrong?" Ian walks over.
"We are talking about the kidnap incident that happened last night around my neighborhood," Evelyn explains.
"Since it happened around your neighborhood, it could also happen anywhere. Be careful," he tells Evelyn and looks at me.
"Luckily we go home early, thinking about it, it's scary," I say.
"Luna, people can also get kidnapped during day time. So make sure to walk with a group of people around," Ian says.
I nod, "true..."
"Do you have time? Let's talk," Ian asks me.
"Oh, well I'm leaving. You two can talk," Evelyn walks away.
"Luna," he comes closer, "about last night... I mean what I say."
I stay still, "it's all of a sudden so I'm just flustered. I need time."
"Are you giving me a chance?" Ian asks.
"Oh...I don't know...like I tell you, it's sudden so I don't know how to respond. I'm sorry."
"No, it's not something to be sorry for, I know it's sudden too. But, the day when it rains and we walk to Mia's school, I think that's when I start to care for you."
"When we first met?"
He nods, "I don't know why but I liked you since then. You were nice to me."
"Ian, I think it's my action that confuses you. That day, it rains a lot so I don't want any of us to have a hard time. That's why..."
"I know, you did it out of kindness. But Luna, this is my feeling so I can decide whether to think about it differently. It's okay if you don't feel the same way, but I will keep liking you," he pats me on the shoulder and walks to the cashier.

It hasn't been that long since Ian and I became friends, but I don't know if we will be able to keep this friendship. From friends to lovers is not that hard, it needs encouragement from one person taking a step forward.
