Athena

                  NASA library kami ngayon si Alyssa. Gumagawa siya ng proposal sa laptop, while I'm reading my notes. Our Midterm Exam is tomorrow and I need to review our past discussions.

I looked at her beside me. She's typing nonstop without even looking any reference or anything. It was like she already knew what to type next. I pouted.

I'm envious of her. I wish I have a brain like hers. She can memorize or remember anything even the slightest thing in every details. She's that smart.

I slip my handouts to the next page. I read every word of it trying to put it inside my head, but something is bothering me.

I looked at Alyssa again. I was waiting for the right time to ask her, but I don't have the courage to do so. I chewed my lips.

I tried to read again. Napatigil lang ako nang magsalita siya sa tabi ko.

"Ask away?" she said without stopping what she's doing infront of the screen.

My head lifted to her. Maybe she notice me giving her glances so many times. I hesitated for a bit but since she already asked. I need to get this chance. She reach for her phone beside and type something then put it back again. I think she texted someone.

"Uhm. You and Zeus. Do you know each other before we've met?"

"Yeah," mabilis at tipid na sagot niya.

So, totoo pa lang magkakilala sila.

"Why didn't you tell me?"

"You didn't bother ask," Nagkibit balikat siya sa sinabi ko. Kailangan ko pa lang magtanong para malaman. Pero tama siya dapat tinanong ko siya una pa lang. Kilala ko naman siya na hindi pala kwento lalo na tungkol sa pribadong buhay.

"We're friends. Friends should tell secrets to each other."

Matagal na kaming magkaibigan pero miminsan lang siya magkwento ng tungkol sa kanya. Naiinis pa ako noon kay Zeus dahil parang mas close sila ng kaibigan. Iyon pala'y magkakilala na sila.

"How did the two of you became friends?" I asked.

"We are not friends," tanggi niya. Naguluhan ako.

"What do you mean you're not friends?"

"We're not friends but we know each other."

Okay, alam kong magkaiba ang makakilala sa magkaibigan pero hello!? I need explanations, you know!

Alyssa really hates conversation like this. Ka-level ng utak niya lang yata ang mga gusto niyang kausap.

I frowned at her.

"Then, paano kayo nagkakilala?" If she won't explain, it will lead to another and another questions. It's so hard to be her friend, honestly.

"Uh. I forgot." Napakamot siya sa kilay.

"Why can't you just tell me the truth," pilit ko

"Just asked him instead," she said dismissing the topic.

"Okay fine! I'll ask him," I said surrendering.

I'll do it my on way.

"Heelll!" Malakas na pagtawag ng isang lalaki. Lahat kami sa loob ng library ay napatingin sa sumigaw.

Ang damuho!

Bigla ay sumulpot ang Librarian at sinita siya 'saka pinalo ng makapal na libro sa ulo. Nag-sorry naman ang damuho sa matandang Librarian pero may kasama pagtawa. Walanghiya talaga.
