"She didn't do anything." My dad says.

"Back off, y/l/n. Unless you want us to arrest you for being an ally." They say.

A family comes in and they hug Dixie.

"She didn't kidnap me." Dixie says.

"You're safe now, Dixie." The man says.

"No, you don't get it. She helped me." Dixie says.

"What?" The person who arrested me asks.

"I was sitting on the curb and she stopped. She let me stay here and gave me food and clothes. She didn't do it." She says.

The officer looks at me and I give him a back-the-fuck-off look. He takes the cuffs off of me and Dixie hugs me.

"I'm sorry." Dixie says.

"It's fine." I say as she let's go.

"We're sorry." The man says.

"It's fine, I get it." I say as the SWAT team leaves.

"That's my mom, dad, and little sister, Charli." Dixie says.

"Nice to meet you." I say as my dad answers his phone.

"Well, let's go back home." Charli says.

"I want to stay." Dixie says.

"You do?" Her mom asks.

"Yeah, I really like Y/n." Dixie says.

Her mom looks and her dad and he nods his head.

"Okay, only for 2 weeks." Her mom says.

Dixie hugs them and they leave. My dad gives me the look he always gives me and I nod my head.

It was the look he gave me that I didn't even cry about anymore. The look that told me he had to deploy. It happened often and I hated it.

My mom founded a company and she always travelling. At least she made it up to me. She tried to make it to everyone one of my performances. She knew that even though we were millionaires, I didn't care about the money.

"I'm sorry." Dad says.

"That's what you always say." I mumble as he leaves.

Dixie holds my hand and kisses my cheek.

"Where is he going?" She asks.

"I don't even know anymore." I say quietly.

"Look on the bright side. You still have me." She says.

"I guess so." I say.

She smiles and I kiss her.

"Will you be my girlfriend?" I ask.

"Yes." She says.

I kiss her and she smiles.

"I love you." She says.

"I love you too." I say.

The backdoor opens and Riley runs inside.

"We gotta go back to San Diego." Riley says.

"Why?" I ask.

"Your mom." She says running up the stairs.

I knew what that meant. She had been sick for a whole year and it hurt me to see her like that. She tried to be the best mother and she was.

Time Skip

I walked into her room and it broke my heart when I saw her.

"Y/n." Mom says weakly.

"Yes?" I ask.

"Promise me that you'll be good after I'm gone." She says.

"Yeah, but don't say that." I say starting to cry.

"We both know I'm not gonna make it out of here." She says.

I nod my head and she smiles.

"Who is the lovely lady?" She asks.

"Dixie, the girl who went missing. She's my girlfriend now." I say.

"Promise me that you won't break her heart." She says.

"I promise." Dixie says.

"I have something to tell you." Mom says.

"What?" I ask.

"Me and your dad didn't divorce because we didn't love each other anymore. We divorced because he cheated and he's still with her." She says.

That broke my heart. He walked out on my mom and me. That was 14 years ago and he's still with her. I felt like a mistake and I probably was. I wonder if he was the man my mom said physically hurt her.

"You weren't meant to be here, but I'm glad you are. You're the one thing I got right. Don't you ever forget that." She says.

I nod my head and she kisses my forehead. She closes her eyes and I hear a long beep. I cry and Dixie hugs me.

"It's gonna be okay." Dixie says softly gently rubbing my back.

The door opens and the nurse comes in. She looks at me and I shake my head. She takes her out of the room and I look at the empty space.

Two Years Later...

It had been two years and my dad still wasn't back from the military. I knew what that meant. He had left me again. I knew it once someone showed up on Dixie's doorstep and asking if I was there. They put me in the system and Dixie's family pulled me out. 

I had been with them ever since my mom had died and I loved being around them. Riley tried to kiss Dixie and Dixie slapped her. After that, we stopped talking and she stayed away from me. She thought I was abandoning her, because got famous after Dixie told her fans about me. 

I never asked Dixie for anything and neither did she. She only asked me to kiss her neck and to cuddle with her. She made me do livestreams with with her and I didn't mind. Her family and fans loved me and thought I was the only person who deserved Dixie.

"2 snipers on the water tower and 1 on the mountain." I say.

"Alright." Johnathan says through the headset.

Charli comes in the room and takes the controller.

"Excuse you." I say.

She puts my character in front of the opposite team and they kill me.

"What the hell?" He asks.

Charli giggles and I roll my eyes.

"I'm coming." He says.

"Don't worry about, I'm about to kill my younger sister." I say as Charli puts the controller down.

Charli runs away and I chase her. I chase her outside and see Dixie sitting on the edge of the pool. I tackle Charli in the pool and Dixie gets splashed.

"Asshole." Dixie says as we laugh.

"I love you." I say with a smile.

"It doesn't seem like it." She says standing up.

She holds her hand out and Charli pulls her in the pool.

"I hate all of you." Dixie says.

"You didn't say that yesterday when you were having sex." Charli says.

"Damn." I say high-fiving Charli.

"Fuck me." Dixie says floating on her back.

"We can't do that now." I say.

Charli laughs and Dixie flips us off without moving.

"I love you." I say.

"Fuck. You." She says.
