Ochako's POV
The park was dark, dimly lit by pathetic streetlights. I saw Deku sitting on a bench under a streetlamp.
"Hey!" I called. He looked around before spotting me. I plopped down next to him. "Ready to go?" He nodded.
"Don't we need disguises or something?" Deku asked, fiddling with his t-shirt. I rifled through my backpack and handed him the sweatshirt and mask.
"Put this on." I ordered, zipping up my hoodie. As I watched him struggle to pull the sweater over his head, I reached into my bag to grab my pistol.
"You brought a gu-!"I clamped my hand over his mouth. A look of fear crossed his face.
"Be quiet about it!" I muttered, shoving the gun in my pocket.
"Is it loaded?" He whispered. I shook my head.
"It's filled with blanks. I'd never actually shoot someone." I explained. Deku let out a sigh of relief. "Let's go."
I bolted across the street, Deku following behind me.Peering through the window of the shop, I saw it was deserted except for the cashier, who was a girl around our age. I flipped up my hood and slipped on my mask. I glanced back at Deku, who was struggling to put on his mask. I reached up and fixed it for him.
"Thanks..." He mumbled. I pushed the glass door open. The girl looked up at us.
"Hi! How can I help you..." Her voice trailed off. I held up my pistol and Deku handed her my backpack.
"F-fill the bag with uh half the money- uh, p-please." He stuttered. I fought back a snicker. I knew this was his first robbery, but I didn't know he'd be this bad. The girl shakily opened the register and pressed a button
"What is that button for? I asked, narrowing my eyes. The girl pushed her hair behind her ear.
"It doesn't do anything." She said, glancing nervously at the window. I tapped my foot against the tile floor.
"Hurry up." I said impatiently.
"Why would you rob this store?" She drawled, slowly taking the money out of the register. Deku opened his mouth to respond.
"Don't answer her question! She's trying to delay us so someone can call the cops!" I whispered. He nodded.
"It's a little too late for that, don't you think?" She said brightly, as the sirens of police cars became louder, and closer. I snatched my backpack, grabbed Deku by the sleeve and ran for the door in time to set red and blue flashing lights.
"Shit!" I muttered. I ran out the door, pulling him along behind me.
"There they are!" Deku looked at me as we ran.
"Where are we going?!" I took a sharp turn into an alleyway, except there was one issue: It was a dead end. I heard the cops' footsteps getting closer. "What do we do now?!" Deku panicked. A door creaked open to his left.
"You two. In here." We glanced at each other before heading through the mysterious door.
Izuku's POV
I gazed around the room we entered. It seemed to be some sort of secret bar.
"Well, well, well, if it isn't the gray thief." I looked at the source of the voice. It was a man with a hand over his face. Uraraka scowled at him.
"I can't believe I've been dragged back to this dump. I stopped running jobs for you and Kurogiri, what, two years ago?" The man scratched at his neck.
"It's nice to see you remember." He drawled. "I want to re-recruit you and your new accomplice to be my pet spies." I was utterly confused by this exchange. She clearly knew these people, I guess she forgot to mention it.
"What do you mean by pet spies?" She asked. The man shifted in his seat.
"Easy. I want the two of you to attend U.A and give me their information so I can infiltrate their stupid herosociety." Uraraka glanced at me.
"My partner and I can't accept your offer." I nodded in agreement.
"Why not? You can do so much more than what you're doing now!" His voice sounded almost maniacal.
"I can't go to U.A, I'm quirkless!" I blurted. He pulled the hand off the face.
"We can fix that." He said, mockingly kind. "Join my league, and we'll give your friend a quirk." I leaned over to her.
"How is that even possible?" I whispered. She tilted her head at the door.
"We're going to talk about this outside for a sec." She announced, yanking the door open. "Do you want a quirk? Because if you do, I wouldn't mind rejoining their ranks."
"Really?!" Uraraka nodded. I felt elated. I opened the door and stepped back inside. The man spoke out to us.
"So what'll it be? A quirk for your service or nothing at all?"
