While Chaerin and Seonghwa has stayed home to plan, Hongjoong went over his role.
For the plan to work, he needed to get rid of Jinhye.
Which wasn't the best for him since he had liked her. What his feelings were now were a bit... scattered, but either way she was his colleague.
He entered the building, fiddling with his tie in nervousness. He had a pistol, and two knives tucked away in his inside pockets. He was to spy on her, and possibly kill her.
He had to be ready, but to be honest; he wasn't completely ready.
Walking into his office, he glanced at the long neglected files, the sheet being for Chaerin still. Now he understood why Jinhye had been so invested in this. Taking the file, he walked into the shredder room.
Hongjoong then turned on the shedder and stuck the file in, Manila Folder and all.
"Hey Kim," a female voice said as Hongjoong tensed.
"Jinhye."
She looked him up and down before nodding.
"How was your... break," she said, "I heard that the assassin attacked you? You're alright, right?"
"Perfectly fine," he muttered, "and we closed the assassin case, for safety precautions."
"You... closed it," she mumbled, "on who's orders?"
Hongjoong inhaled sharply and spun around to face her.
"The President's."
She brushed her straight blond hair over her shoulders, a piece shorter than the others straying behind.
"Oh and when was this mentioned?"
Hongjoong inhaled.
She was getting onto him. If she realized what was truly going on then she'd tell the government assistants and the plan would be ruined.
He had to kill her today, whether he was ready or not.
"When I first met him."
This seemed to shut Jinhye up.
"How- why did you meet him," she seethed, accidentally letting anger slip into her voice.
"Well," Hongjoong said walking past her and to the door, an empty file in his hands.
"We're roommates."
"You're- wait..."
Hongjoong let his hand hover over the door as he felt Jinhye start putting pieces together. He heard her take a step closer to him and he let his hand quietly glide to the lock.
"What did he say exactly," she hissed, her heels clicking against the tiled floor.
"That he is president and he knows all secrets," Hongjoong said calmly.
"Secrets huh?"
"Yes," Hongjoong said, his back still towards her.
At this point he could feel her breath against his neck.
"And he told me them."
"What was his name," she practically growled, ignoring the fact that she had let her facade fall.
"Kang Yeosang."
And in that moment Jinhye lunged for him, but Hongjoong had been expecting it.
He spun around and held up the folder, her blade getting stuck in it.
Thank god for Chaerin's movie references.
Using the folder as something like a fan, he wrinkled it and twisted it to rip the knife out of her grip.
"You got stronger," she muttered, "Yeosang isn't the only one you're living with, right?"
"That would be correct," Hongjoong smiled sweetly before yanking the blade out of the folder.
"Who?"
"I'll leave that up to you to decide."
With that he lunged forward, Jinhye ducking and elbowing him in the ribcage. He was knocked out of air, but still had the upper hand as he was armed.
He grabbed his ribcage and drew another knife, slightly shorter than the one Jinhye wielded.
"You planned this," she seethed as she tugged at the locked door.
"Not the killing you part," he said, "just spying on you."
"How long?"
"Does the Business Garage ring a bell?"
Her face paled, the first sign of fear sprawling across her face.
"You're with them- that means Yeosang is.... oh god."
While she was murmuring to herself Hongjoong's hand slipped into his work coat and brought out his gun.
"I'm sorry Jinhye," he sad as he pointed the gun at her, the suppressor on the gun.
"Hongjoong you aren't gonna kill me," she smiled as she noticed his shaking hands.
"How do you know?"
"Because you're too weak," she said, "because your heart's too big, you still believe every human is good. That's a mistake."
"Do you want to know what your mistake is then," Hongjoong said.
"What Joong?"
"You underestimate people."
And with that he pulled the trigger and shut his eyes, the bullet going cleanly into her forehead. A soft thus echoed as her dead body hit the floor, Hongjoong still squeezing his eyes shut.
He felt sick, he felt nauseous, but the job was done.
He avoided looking down at the body and hid the gun as he left the room, making his way to the exit to clock out, saying 'he didn't feel well.'
They were now in the homestretch.
Only a few chapter guys.... maybe 5+ if I break any up
