Chaerin watch as Mingi squinted his eyes, his left eye closed while his right zoned in on the target. He winced, and pulled the trigger, a gun shot ringing in their ears.
He took off his ear muffs and turned towards her.
"How was that," he whispered, Chaerin nodding.
"Good," she said grabbing a gun herself and a pair of earmuffs.
She looked back at her brother who was watching her actions intently.
"You just have to be quick," she said, "you just have to be quick, you won't have time to aim. Trust your gut of where your bullet is going and... shoot."
With that she let go of the trigger and the bullet went through the bullseye, all the while she was looking at Mingi.
His mouth seemed to faulted to close, but he got it shut eventually.
"You always were the more brutal of us two," he grimaced as he saw her set down the smoking pistol.
"Yeah it's called me being horrible at dealing with trauma," she winced as she took off the earmuffs and sat down on a crate next to Mingi.
The twins sat in silence as the strangled silence of the Mafia building hid the sounds of the other's final trainings.
Things had changed, none of them could deny such. From when they were just two sixteen year olds, crying just so they could share an extra moment together, to when they were 18 and struggling to find themselves again. To the last half year where they found each other.
To the last month where they decided to fuck the system that had fucked them over.
"Hey Mings," she said, bringing back the old nickname she used to use.
"Hmm?"
She sighed and leaned her smaller head on his shoulder, her older brother bending down to get to a better shoulder height for her.
"Has Yeosang talked to you yet?"
Mingi inhaled and looked down at his sister. So quiet, but so bold at the same time. Brace and confident with herself. So different from him.
"Yeah," he said, "the news was a little surprising at first, but it makes sense."
Chaerin leaned away from him and raised an eyebrow.
"What do you mean?"
Mingi smiled sadly.
"I remember them saying something about my sector mark changing," he said, "they ripped out the needle before it could fully change."
"So they cheated you of a better life?"
"Chae you know that Yeosang had far from a better life then I," he frowned, "hell I was lucky."
Chaerin hummed in agreement.
"I just feel like you should be more upset."
"I was at first," he said, "but if I had gotten the president I wouldn't be any happier, I wouldn't be. It would've been worse. I'm lucky."
Chaerin nodded.
"Cool."
Mingi laughed.
"Is that it?"
"Hit em' with cool and move on ya know?"
The twins laughed in the room they were supposed to be training in, but hell, everyone knew that wasn't going to actually happen. Productivity rarely happened unless it was with Hongjoong or Seonghwa, and with the two together it might be thrown to the side as well.
"We should get the others to go home," she said, "tomorrow's a big day."
"I feel like that's a bit of an understatement," Mingi scoffed.
"Would you like me to say tomorrow's the day we're waltzing to our deaths?"
"No thanks."
"That's what I thought."
