After almost finishing the subject of the first part of history, teacher Asuna had commissioned a critical essay on the themes seen, which were practically the imperialist wars in Africa and Asia.
Many had chosen the wars Japan had fought with China. It was easy, since they knew that from their history of the country, a subject they had taken a few semesters ago.
That made it a little easier for Asuna to grade the essays, but more than one had problems with it.
Among those people was Alice, who didn't quite understand how to do the essay. She was a girl of A and B in the school ratings, the pride of any mother or father who brags about their children's grades at family gatherings.
She was thinking about the division of Africa among the European powers, a topic that was quite extensive but had fascinated her with all the lyrics.
Kirito, on the other hand, had been chosen because of the Spanish-American war, as he had a friend who could help him perfectly.

Eugeo and Yuuki had chosen the same topic: the opium wars. That's why they were helping each other with research and books they found in a library or in the school itself.
Yuuki had a whole pile of books in her hands, staggering so that none of them would fall out. Suddenly, a desire to sneeze very treacherously came over her.

The themes were somewhat varied when it came to non-Japanese wars. There was Kirito's, Yuna's, Yuuki's and Eugeo's. The only one of the subjects that was repeated three times was the opium war, because it was quite interesting and in Japan there were several records of it in the libraries.
Alice was looking for teacher Asuna to ask her where she could find the information on the distribution of Africa, since that consisted of several wars and war problems.
The only thing she knew, and that was with the help of Professor Klein, was that the colonization of Africa had been due to the creation of the vaccine against malaria, since only the coasts of that continent were known to be affected by that disease.
