As it was a new school year, the student committees were unified again after their dissolution with one month remaining in the school's operations.
Many were eager to participate again, others were nervous because it would be the first time they would participate in a school committee.
The organization was really lousy and chaotic, for some strange reason there were several students running around trying to put out a fire in the principal's office since the flyers inviting participation had been burned.
But Asuna came to impose order, not only by putting out the fire that existed, but by organizing the two contestants every year.
The first committee was that of the Conservatives, famous for being the ones who followed tradition and who did not allow any radical change in the school. One example was that the Conservatives always voted not to change the colour of the football uniform for the school team.
And now on the other hand there were just the Reds, those who wanted to change many things that the Conservatives did not allow.
One part of it was the colour of the football uniform, to use some areas of the school as recreational areas, etc.
However, one would think that the Reds were the ones who would always win the contests since that would give pleasure to most of the students...but not. The Conservatives had been ruling their student power for more than eight generations, so a victory for the Reds would be historic for the school.
-You know, everyone will put in their own budget. I want you to have your pre-candidates ready, your written speeches and all the other things you have to do. -Asuna ordered while accommodating all the chaos in the principal's office.
-Teachers can participate too, teacher Asuna. Indirectly, but we can help our students. -Said Klein, who was entering the principal's office to help his colleague.
-That's excellent, I wouldn't mind helping these kids. They really are a mess.
-But you have to choose a side: conservative or red, which do you choose?
-That reminds me of a scene in The Matrix. -She laughed. -The truth is, I come from a very traditional family, so I'm going with The Conservatives.
-Really? -Klein's eyes went up in flames.
He was known to be the Reds' guardian forever. Although he always lost, he never gave up, on one occasion he had argued fervently, accusing The Conservatives of manipulating the elections in his favour because radical victory was at hand.
It is not as if the school elections were taken seriously by all the students... but Klein took it as if it were total war, almost as if he were a candidate for the post of prime minister of the country.
-Is he okay? -He's fine. -Asuna asked.
-Consider this to be total war. Not to brag, but my studies in sociology make me a great political rival, so I was preparing to lose. -Klein said in a mocking tone.
-I've always liked a challenge... I'll bet you a month's salary that the Conservatives will kick your ass and your committee's ass!
-Make it two months, weekends included.
-Done. -The two sides shook hands, heading to their salons respectively.
Already in the lockers you could see all the turquoise and red propaganda, respectively, from each committee.
You could see the invitations for people who wanted to be part of the pre-candidates. They would choose the most skilled to speak, those who had more lip ... in short Kirito did not enter even remotely as a pre-candidate.
