Chapter 35

Get her out!
Hannah's pov...
I woke up, I was still in the car, the car was on it side, I could hear people saying hello? And banging on the car, then I heard someone say we need to tip it upright. I felt the car return to its correct position. Erin! Oh my gosh erin!
I tried to turn my head but it hurt too much.
There was a bang on my window. Mam! Can you hear me?
They were trying to open the door. They were successful. They dragged me out.
H- my friend, she's in labour.
Stranger- oh my god.
I took a second to come around fully and stood up. I used my training.
H- ok do we have any nurses, doctors? Even vets?
Two people said yes.
H- ok I need everyone else to get right back, can one of you see to Jamie and the other one help me pry this door open. The woman went around to Jamie's side while the man began pulling on the door. It was jammed. It was no use.
My door was still open so I got in and tried to get to Erin that way.
She was knocked out.
H- Erin? Erin can you hear me? We are going to get you out. It will be ok.

I didn't know that I just needed her to stay positive for the baby. She began to come around.

H- That's it Erin! Try to wake up for me.
E- wh-- what haaa--ppeennedd? The baby! Hannah what about the baby!
H- Erin doesn't speak you need to save your energy. Keep breathing. Stay strong for the baby.

Jamie was out and awake. He was on the floor crying. Screaming. I td the woman to comfort erin while the man still carried on trying to open the door. I went over to Jamie.

H- U ok?
J- what is we can't get her out?!
H- we will!
J- what if she dies! And the baby! Oh god the baby! I've killed them!

He began to sob. Hitting himself on the head.

H- STOP IT! Don't say that! You need to stay strong for Erin the baby and the other kids! Don't say stupid things like that!
J- what if it happens though?
H- IF! Stop torturing yourself! And it's not going to happen because we are going to get them out.
An ambulance came around the corner followed by a fire truck.
I ran over to the paramedic.
H- We have one female trapped in the back of the car, she is in labour and was not wearing a seat belt. Her name is Erin. There is also a Male who is her husband, Jamie. He was driving.
Paramedic- were you in the car mam?
H- yes but I'm fine please see to Erin
The paramedic ran to the car.
I spoke to the fireman.
H- the door is jammed we can't get it open. Also, I haven't told anyone but I can smell oil.
The firemen all looked at each other and then some ran to the car with a chainsaw to cut open the door while another radioed for backup and police assistance and two more opened the side of the truck frantically searching for something.
It was not long before two police cars and another fire truck had come whizzing to the scene. A older woman stepped out of one of the police cars out on her hat and came to me.
Gold-Mam I'm going to have to ask you to step back into the safety zone my officers are setting up please.
H- inspector Gold?
Gold- yes?
H- Hannah Hanson your new Sargent.
Gold- oh what a way to meet.
H- yes. I've moved all the people back a safe distance and the only people in this area are either police, off duty medical workers, firemen or paramedics.
Gold- good work Sargent.
She patted me on my back which hurt and then walked off to breif the other 4 four officers.
I heard a voice say 'get me a bed!'
I turned around too see the door of the car on the floor and a paramedic leaning in holding Erins neck. I ran over with another paramedic who was pushing a bed. I stood there still as I saw erin unconscious again and the paramedics lifting her onto the bed and quickly taking her to the ambulance. U went over to Jamie.
H- go with her. She need you, the baby needs you.
Jamie ran to the ambulance and it set off to the hospital.
I took a sigh of relief, I felt myself fall back and someone caught me. It was luke.
L- Hannah? Are you ok?!
I couldn't speak. I mumbled something but it didn't make any sense.
L- paramedic! We need some help over here please!
H- p-- pho--phone J-Jake. T-tellll hi---him I- I love him.
I closed my eyes and could only see a white light.
