The men left me on the same alley they found me in. They had blindfolded me during transport, so that I wouldn't know their location. So much for trust.

It was now dark out, but I was unsure of the time. I ran back in a panic to the mall, to find it closed. It had to be after ten.

"Where are Violet and the others? I wondered out loud.

"Fedora! Where the hell have you been!" The demanding voice of Violet boomed. I turned at the sound. "We were worried sick when you did come back, and we thought you ditched, but you weren't at your apartment..." she started sounding more worried than angry.

"Vi, I'm sorry. I...had to see someone for a job, they saw me at the mall and just took me without letting me say goodbye." It was close to the truth.

"Fine then I guess your forgiven. I have to go home. So do you. Stay out of trouble now, kay? I can't always be watching you." And she left for home.

I walked in silence, no longer afraid, since I knew who the men were. I couldn't help but get emotional when Violet left, knowing what I would eventually have to do. But how did the leaders fit into all this? I noticed how they didn't call Amalie the leader. They called her the mayor, which could mean she had motive to become the one and only ruler or Merrowmoor.

I opened my door to find my apartment the same as it was when I left. Strange, since they have cleaners for the university apartments. I stepped into the bathroom and almost died of shock the cleaner was tied up, drugged, in the bathtub, with a note.

"Hint at us to Violet anymore and this will be you."
