Chapter 2: The Beginning of Something Important

(Y/N) POV:

I woke up on the ground on a cliff, the area around us was weird. Large stone monoliths stuck up out of the ground and some of the cliffs had eyes carved in them... the ground felt oddly soft though. I looked down and saw I had fallen on top of Susie. "SHIT" I mentally cursed. She hadn't woken up though so everything's okay. I was about to stand up but Susie woke up. "What the hell!?" She asked bearing her teeth. "Susie it's just me (Y/N)" I said. "Oh you... well look ya can get off me now nerd" She said. "Uh right sorry" I said quickly getting up and then holding my hand out to help her up. The first thing I noticed was I wasn't wearing my clothes but (F/C) armor. Susie was wearing a long sleeveless jacket some purplish pants and also spiked bracelets. Her skin and hair was different too. "Damn she looks badass" I thought aloud. "T-Thanks... ya look badass too for a human" Susie. I blushed a little but covered it up.

She pushed my hand aside and got up. "I don't need ya help wimp... now where the hell are we?" She asked. "Don't ask me, I know just as much as you do!" I said. We suddenly heard the clanking of metal boots. "Shit something's coming we gotta hide!" Susie said before running. I followed her and then slid down what looked like a waterfall... but made of mud? We then both hid inside of what looked like piles of white dust. The warrior approached us and we both ran into the remaining dust pile. Both of us were in close quarters and I blushed a little. While Susie was a bit of a jerk.... she did look attractive. The warrior popped our shelter and we were face to face with them.

"H-Hey b-back off! If ya want 'im ya-! K-Kris?! Phew... don't scare me like that dumbass!" She said to him. That first part seemed kinda odd but I ignored it. "We gotta find a way outta here... Umm... where is 'here' anyway?" Susie asked looking around. "It doesn't matter YOU got us into this mess Kris, YOU'LL get us out!" Susie said pinning it on them. "Lead the way Kris" She said walking behind him. I followed Kris until Susie sighed in annoyance. "Oh my God. Nevermind you walk WAY too slow" Susie said before walking ahead of him. "Hey I'm gonna follow her, make sure she doesn't get lost alright" I said to Kris before running over to Susie. "Susie you have to be more careful, as much as I hate to say it we gotta stick together" I told her.

Susie scoffed. "Yeah right, I dunno why you think that. I'm fine on my own nerd" She said before stopping. Kris managed to catch up to us shortly after. "Hey guys, someone up there is waving to us" Susie said pointing at a shadowy figure. They shot a pair of spades at us. "R-Run Kris!" Susie said before grabbing my arm and running off. I tried to keep a similar pace to Susie but she was fast. We finally got to a mudslide again and waited. "Uh Susie, my arm" I said. She looked down, "Never speak of this understood?" She asked me. I nodded and then Kris caught up to us. "Guys down here" She then said before going down the slide. I went second and Kris went third. Me and Kris fell down. I got up and held my hand out to help them. They grabbed it and I pulled Kris up. We then walked over to find Susie staring at a castle. "Oh, your not dead. Sweet" She said with a smirk. "So either of ya know what the heck this place is?" She asked. Kris shook they're head. "Not a clue" I said. "Wonder if there's someone in that building up there" She then asked. Kris and I walked over and Susie followed.

"Why the hell is there a castle in a supply closet?" Susie asked. "I don't think we're in the closet anymore Susie" I said before we heard another voice. "Welcome Heroes" It said. "Who's there?" Me and Susie asked. "Do not be alarmed, I am not your enemy" they said. "Please come forward, all of you" They demanded. We all walked forward to see someone or thing in a cloak. "Welcome, I am the prince of this kingdom, the kingdom of darkness" They said. "Kris, Susie, (Y/N)... there is a legend in this land. A legend that one day 3 heroes of light will arrive" He said. "Please heroes, listen to my tale" He requested. Kris shook their head and so did Susie. "Umm r-really? Are you sure? It's fairly important" The figure said. "We've heard it" Susie lied. "Really you've heard it already?" they asked. "Oh perhaps I shouldn't have rehearsed it so much" they said a bit flustered. "Look dude we didn't come here for a bed time story" Susie said. "See you three later" She added before leaving. "W-Wait! Let me at least tell you how to-" As he said this a kid on a bicycle ran into him.

"Ho Ho Ho! The heroes are running away and didn't even know I was here! My dad's gonna make me son of the month!" The kid exclaimed over confidently. "Who the hell are you?!" Susie asked. "Probably some kid who has no idea what he's doing" I said. "I'm.... the bad guy" He said. "You clowns want to seal our dark fountain huh!?" He asked. "And still picturing you guys as clowns save the world from eternal darkness huh?!" He then added. "Eh" Susie simply replied clearly uninterested. "Susie saving the world means we get to fight people" I told her to get her morale up. "Oh hell yeah" She said cracking her knuckles. "Well we both know you'll go east" the kid said a bit scared. "It's your only way home" He threatened. "But I Lancer won't let you get there!" Lancer exclaimed. "And I've got a flawless two step plan to  ensure it" He added. "Step one, I thrash you. Step two you lose" He simply explained. "Pfffft, that's not a plan" I said. "Now now (Y/N) I think it's a nice plan" Susie said.

Lancer looked a bit surprised. "R-Really?" He asked. "Yeah actually... Mind if we use it on you instead?" She asked. Kris told Lancer to watch out for Susie's attacks. Susie attacked and missed. However Lancer didn't account for my attacks. I hit him and did a good deal of damage. "Dunno how I got an ax, but like that's cool" Susie said. "Yeah, and this sword is nice... how'd I get it?" I asked. Kris gave me the "We don't have to fight look". I rolled my eyes. "We do Kris he's gonna kill us" I stated. He then gave me a "We can resolve this without fighting" look. "Fine we'll do it peaceful" I said before Kris ordered me to help compliment Lancer. Lancer attacked and Kris dodged.

After a bit more complimenting Lancer's bike ran out of gas and he could no longer fight. "Are you two okay?" The person in the cloak asked. "Um allow me to introduce myself more properly. I am-" Susie cut them off. "Jeez can ya take off that hood? I can barely hear you under there" Susie said. "U-Ummmm alright" They said before taking the cloak off. It revealed a goat monster with black fur and glasses wearing green robes, a matching hat and a pink scarf. "Hello everyone, I'm Ralsei" He said. (Yes he's a he, anyone who says otherwise is dead to me, Ralsei is a PRINCE) "Kris, Susie, (Y/N). It is ever so wonderful to meet you all" Ralsei said. "I'm certain we're gonna become great friends!" He added with a happy smile. "Best way to leave is east right?" Susie asked. "Yes! That's where we'll-" Susie cut him off. "Got it, see ya at school nerds" Susie said before leaving. "Ugh, I'll catch up to her Kris and keep her outta trouble" I said before running after Susie.

Kris POV:

"Oh my the great door is opened?!" Ralsei exclaimed. "No wonder Lancer was able to come through" He added. I just listened silently. "Kris once we pass through this door... our adventure will really begin" He said. "A journey foretold exactly by the prophecy" Ralsei added. "But Kris I believe your choices are important too. This world is full of all kinds of people, Kris. In the end, how we treat them makes all the difference. So let's try our best to get by without fighting... if we can manage to do that I believe this tale may have a happy ending... otherwise you might not find the result favorable" He said. "Oh I'm sorry is that too much to ask?" He then asked. "I can handle it" I simply replied. "Kris I knew you were a hero from the moment I saw you" He said before we both walked through the door. Ralsei closed it behind us.
