Chapter 9 A Walk in the Park

(Y/N) POV:

I woke up from another dream... this time two piercing light blue eyes were staring straight at me from the darkness... and I heard whispers, but couldn't make out what they were saying. "Probably just from that horror movie I watched with the family last night" I thought in my head brushing it off as I got out of bed and walked to the bathroom to get ready. I did and walked downstairs. I quickly did my morning stuff and then walked to school. As I did I saw a red minivan pass me as per usual, well mostly usual at least. Some days Kris walked. I tried to pick up the pace a bit while walking to make sure I got to school on time.

Susie POV:

I woke up in my room and then got off my bed. It had rained last night and I just tipped the bucket that was keeping water from soaking the floor. "Dammit!" I cussed as I walked across the wet carpet anyway and then started to change into my casual clothes. I walked downstairs grabbed some toast and then started the walk to school. I was already late so I just ate on the way to school. I had finished eating before then kicking down the door to the classroom. "Am I late?" I asked before picking at my teeth a bit. "N-Not at all S-Susie. Uh I-I was j-just going to start the lesson" Alphys stuttered. "Cool" I said before taking my seat and leaning back in my chair.

I looked around and then tried to listen to Alphys' boring lecture without zoning out like always. I couldn't help myself however, I wanted to be with my friends, be with (Y/N) and Kris. School was boring as all hell and I didn't wanna be here when I could be literally anywhere else. I sighed and stretched a bit as class continued on. I could barely focus and had no will today. I sighed as I thought maybe I could go eat something outta my lunch, toast wasn't exactly enough. I looked in my bag and saw nothing. "Son of a fucking bitch" I thought in my head as I had forgotten to actually pack a lunch in my haste today.

"How could today get any worse?" I thought in my head sarcastically. I leaned back in my chair and then almost fell over before I felt an arm on the back of my chair. I looked over and saw (Y/N) had kept me from falling. "I could've caught myself nerd" I simply said before putting my feet under my desk and then pulling myself back up with my legs. I shook my head and made sure no one was looking. "P-Perhaps y-you shouldn't l-lean in your chair Susie" Alphys said to me. "And if you wanna keep your face you shouldn't tell me how to live my life" I replied back crossing my arms. (Time skip)

I sighed and walked to the cafeteria and sat down in my chair. Kris and (Y/N) were already at the table and I sat down next to them. "Sup nerds?" I asked with a slight smirk. "Not much Susie. How about you?" (Y/N) asked. "Ehh today's been kinda shit but when ain't it?" I asked with a chuckle. "I know that feeling" (Y/N) replied with a slightly sad expression. Kris, emotionless as ever just nodded and both of them ate. I just laid my head on the table in boredom and tiredness. "Something wrong Susie?" (Y/N) asked. Kris nodded and and looked at me. "Nothin, dunno why you'd care anyway... I mean unless your like ma friends or something" I replied

"Of course we're your friends Susie. Why wouldn't we be?" Kris nodded. "See Kris agrees" He added. "I dunno, I'm just not so used to 'avin friends or whatever" I admitted. "Well hey we're here for you. Also Susie you seem hungry, have this" (Y/N) said giving my half of his sandwich. Kris nodded and then gave me a chocolate bar. "Nah, this is your food I don't need it nerds" I replied. "Susie please take it, we want you to have it" (Y/N) said. Kris nodded indicating for me to have it. "...Thanks" I simply replied before devouring the small lunch I had been given.

(Time skip and POV switch)

(Y/N) POV:

Class had just ended and I walked out of class. I decided to ask Susie if she wanted to hang out considering she was still having doubts of us being friends. I walked up to her. "Hey there, so wanna maybe uh erm go somewhere to hang out or something? As friends" I said trying to make sure she didn't think I was asking her out. "Huh erm yeah dude sure" Susie said with a slight smirk as we walked. "Cool but where?" I asked. "Eh I dunno. I kinda wanna go somewhere peaceful or whatever, get away from like stress and shit. Cuz today's been shitty" Susie replied. "Does the park seem nice?" I asked her. "Ehhh sure why the hell not. Never been though" She informed me as we walked.

"It's pretty nice, especially if you wanna get away from the bad" I replied as we walked. I noticed my hand absent mindedly reaching towards hers and then grabbed it. "Susie was okay and looked great but... I don't got the courage to ask her anything yet, and I should get to know her first" I thought in my head as I rubbed my arm. "So then uh feeling relaxed any?" I asked as we walked and then Susie decided to sit down on a bench. "A bit I guess" She shrugged. "I mean nothin bad has 'appened so that's a plus" She replied.

"Yeah, and I mean being with you is definitely a good thing- Cuz I like being with friends" I said with a smile. "Heh yeah. It's nice being with you... I never really had any friends, erm well some when I was young but they all moved away or hate me now" Susie replied with a shrug. "Who hates you?" I asked Susie. "Noelle probably, we were friends a while back... damn she's fuckin spoiled... uh lets see also Catty and yeah that's all ma ex friends that still are 'ere" Susie replied as she leaned back on the bench. I sat next to her and sighed. "So, got any hobbies or anything?" I asked Susie.

"Well as you know some gaming, I used to fight and do classes back before.... something came up" Susie said frowning after that. "Anyway it's nothin to worry bout (Y/N)" Susie said using my name, it was rare that she used anyone's name except Kris'. I just sighed. "Well if there's anything you wanna talk about Susie I'm here" I said. "Thanks I guess... why the hell ya so nice to me? Even before we were friends ya treated me well despite me being ya bully... why?" Susie asked looking at me. "Cuz Susie, you seemed redeemable. And a wise man said that the best way to defeat an enemy is make them your friend... or sometimes kill them... but I don't wanna kill you" I replied.

"I don't wanna kill you either (Y/N)... thanks for being my friend even after I treated ya like shit" Susie said. "I'm sorry I did that but I can't exactly look soft. I kinda gotta make sure everyone knows I can't be messed with otherwise I lose part of ma lunch funds sometimes" Susie stated. "Wait what?" I asked her surprised. "It's nothing... some days I just don't get to eat much" Susie simply replied with a shrug like it's nothing. "Well that's bullshit... I'll make sure you get your fill Susie I promise and I'll make sure your well treated... you deserve it" I told her. ".... I'm glad someone thinks so nerd" Susie said with a slight grin as we then got up to walk around a bit more.
