"Lalabas ka nang nakaganyan?" was the first thing Aunt Faith said, a toothbrush inside her frothy mouth.
Red looked at her clothes. She's wearing a white loose sleeveless shirt, a pair of denim shorts, and her favorite sneakers. "There's nothing wrong with them," she said, raising an eyebrow at her.
"Nasaan na pala sina Kuya?" Aunt Faith asked.
"Having a brekky in the kitchen," Red said and started walking, but stopped to look back at Aunt Faith. "What are you still doing here? Aren't you supposed to be already in school?"
"Mamaya pa ang meeting namin," she said. "I'm gonna rinse this off."
"Alright."
Red entered the kitchen and went to the fridge to grab the carton of milk, a bowl, spoon, and the cereals above the fridge. She greeted everyone and prepared her breakfast. Her parents were eating what she calls 'full tagalog breakfast' which is fried rice, dried cured beef, sunny side up eggs, and a mug of hot instant coffee while Poppy was eating sardines with the fried rice. Red never liked the taste of fried rice, and her parents love fried rice, so it was either bread, cereals, or last night's take out left over as breakfast.
"What time will you be back?" her mother asked.
"I'm not sure," she said, eating a spoonful of her cereals. "We're practicing the songs we're going to perform."
"Basta huwag ka umuwi ng gabi."
"Yes, Dad."
"Sino nga ulit ang mga kasama mo mamaya?" Poppy asked.
"Our vocalist Venus, Dexter on the bass, and Cedric and Luxus on the guitars."
"Okay, mag-iingat kayo."
Once done eating, she grabbed her drumsticks and her wallet before heading out. Aunt Faith dropped her at the Burger King near their meeting place. Red needs energy because she knows for sure that they're going to be practicing the whole day, so goes in and orders two four cheese burgers and three thick cut chips (the cashier was confused at first until she pointed at the menu.)
She sat near the entrance and messaged the group chat that they've created.
