"An apology is a lovely perfume, it can transform the clumsiest moment into a gracious gift."
—Margaret Lee Runbeck
"Ysabelle, can we talk?"
"Okay... um what do you want to--"
"No, I mean... Tomorrow, Saturday? After lunch?"
"O-okay."
"Um, okay. See you tomorrow, then."
Ysabelle threw herself on her bed. How? Why? Why did she agree to that? Was it because of the heat of the moment? Did he take advantage of that moment to get her to do what he wants? She tossed and turned as she berated herself for even talking to the man.
She sighed and looked up at the ceiling. She did want to have an interaction with him again, and by the looks of it, maybe the talk will result in something good? But what if it didn't? What if it made things worse? Angelo would never not apologise for his mistakes. Oh, but if he does apologise, the only question she has is why did it take him that long just to apologise? A whole year and not a single word from the man!
Utterly perplexed, she tossed and turned around again on her bed, wrinkling the sheets and creating chaos on her neat bed.
"Oi!" she suddenly sat upright when she heard her mother's voice. Her mother entered her room and she was glaring at her. "You ruined everything! I spent a whole lot of time fixing that unruly bed of yours and you just went about and made it just as unruly as your hair!"
"I'm really sorry--"
"I don't need your sorry, I need you to fix that bed exactly as before," she said, putting emphasis on the word 'exactly' as she glared at Ysabelle.
"Sino ba kasi iniisip mo at ginulo mo 'yong kama?" tanong niya.
"You know, normally I would be against this," he started as he put the pillows in place. "But if you really like that bloke then you should have a chat with him. Nothing wrong with that. Just a small talk."
"Hindi 'yon gan'on kadali, Kuya."
"Ah yes, because he insulted you and you ran away," he said deadpanned.
"What? I didn't run away. I..." she paused, looking for a better word to describe it. "Wanted to distance myself from him."
Harry blew a raspberry, "Ilang buwan na kayong hindi naguusap. I'm sure that both of you are itching to talk with each other now. Hindi niyo kaya pigilan ang mga sarili niyo 'pag dating sa isa't isa. Gan'on kayo ka-rupok."
She checked the time and it was almost 12 pm. After lunch daw sila magkikita, wala pa siyang natatanggap na message galing kay Angelo and she was hoping that he has forgotten--
A ping echoed across the room. She sighed as she picks up her phone, "Sabi ko nga hindi niya makakalimutan," bulong niya sa sarili. She opened the message and it said where they were going to meet.
"A park, huh. How predictable," she murmured. Angelo always picks parks when he has something important to say. So maybe there's something important that he has to say.
