Logan's Point of View
I stepped back from the dummy, creating some distance between the two of us as Toriel smiled.
"Very good." Toriel complemented.
"Come now, I have a surprise waiting for you at home!" Toriel says happily, continuing through a small doorway into a house.
When I entered, I sighed in relief at the warm smell of something in the background.
"Ah, do you smell that? Surprise! I made you butterscotch-cinnamon pie!" She said excitedly.
"Oh, really? Thank you, Toriel!" I thanked her, as Toriel smiled back.
"No problem! I have another surprise to show you. Right this way." She says as she took my hand and led me down a hallway, later stopping in front of a door.
"A room of your own, I hope you like it!" She said in excitement. Suddenly, she sniffed the air.
"Is something burning...?" She asked, as the both of us looked at each other in worry.
"I'll be right back. Make yourself at home!" Toriel said as she hurried off towards the kitchen.
I stopped inside the room, well. It felt promising...
Thing is, it's that this fits a younger person...
Well maybe not for the instruments and stuff lying in the corner, but why not make myself at home. I sat down on the bed and thought about the upper world.
'What time is it? Had it been a couple of years already? Is time frozen down here? What about my friends? House? Family? Is everyone okay?' I thought sighing, lying down and taking a small nap.
So, I decided to save those thoughts for later. The next morning, or night, maybe, I didn't know.
I got up and smiled as I found a slice of pie on the table.
I took it and decided to save it for later, then I walked out of the room, down to the living room.
(Author: Logan has a backpack with him.)
"Up already, I, see?" Toriel says, smiling, while reading a book.
"I just want you to know how glad I am to have someone here. There are so many old books I want to share." She said sighing, as I saw the larger bookshelf in the corner of the room.
"I wanna show you my favorite bug-hunting spot." She continued on about education, while I kept thinking about the upper world.
"Toriel?" I asked, she looked up at me.
"Yes? What is it?" She asked smiling.
"May I go home?" I asked, Toriel's furry eyes looked confused.
"What? This... This IS your home now..." She said in a confused tone, her eyes looking saddened.
"D-do you want to see what kind of book I am readying?" She asked ignoring my question.
"No Tori-" I started, but I was interrupted.
"It is called 72 Uses for Snails, how about it?" Toriel asked in a really desperate voice.
"I... How do I exit the ruins?" I asked her.
"I... I have to do something, stay here." Toriel said getting up and walked around me quickly.
"No, Toriel, wait!" I started as she left, I decided to follow her down the stairs. She stood there in a hallway, now noticing my arrival.
"You wish to know how to return home do you not?" Toriel says flatly.
"Ahead of us lies the end of the ruins, a one-way exit to the rest of the underground." She states.
"Yeah, I..." I started again.
"I am going to destroy it. No one will ever be able to leave again." Toriel said before walking down the long hallway again.
"Wait!" I yelled sprinting after her.
"I'm only protecting you; do you understand!" Toriel yelled running down the hall. She went to turn and took a deep breath.
"This is your final warning. Go to your room, please." Her tone, once serious and emotionless, took on a begging and pleading voice.
She stopped in front of a large door; she turned around and faced me.
"You want to leave so badly? Hmph. You are just like the others." She said sighing.
"No, I need to go home." I explained, but Toriel shut her eyes and ignored me.
"There is only one solution to this. Prove yourself. Prove to me you're strong enough to survive!" Toriel flatly told me, as the box and heart came up again.
(Author: And just like balloons we'll float away! Oh, sorry wrong game... Sorry... Anyway, let's keep going shall we...)
"I..." I said trying to say something. Suddenly huge hands the size of me came from the top and bottom of me, closing in and in a short flicker of pain hit me.
Toriel stared through me, since I couldn't get one word out since she kept interrupting me. Fireballs flew from her hands, shooting me backwards into the edge of the box.
Once I got hit, Toriel's eyes had a strange flicker, was that sadness?
I prepared for the next attack, fire came at me, and it was hitting me till I was on the ground, as I have been sparing Toriel for a long time.
The sadness showing in Toriel;s eyes more and more. I got up slowly, my hand over my chest.
My heart felt broken and in shards, and I also felt like I was bleeding on the inside. That's what it seemed like, at the least.
After a couple of times of Toriel trying to attack me, I kept sparing her. I was waiting for the final attack, but there was nothing, it just went around me.
I was trying to get hit, but it backed away from me, as Toriel kept took a sharp breath. Every attack seemed to avoid me as she looked sadder, and the attacks stopped after a while...
"I know you want to go home, but... Please, just go upstairs. I promise I won't embarrass you in front of anyone. We don't have much, but... It's so pathetic. I can't even save one of out seven people." Toriel pleaded, as I looked at her saddened.
"I... Won't stop you." Toriel says as the battlefield disappeared around me, later with her hugging me.
"Goodbye, my child. But wait!" Toriel says letting go of me, as I started to walk through the door, but suddenly stopped.
"When you leave... Please do not come back. I hope you understand." Toriel sadly said as she walked away, smiling a bit, and I smiled back at her.
I turned back around as I took a deep breath and walked through the door, never going back to Toriel.
