(Aaron's POV)
Jack came home this morning and I was almost finished helping Emily unpack the last of her boxes. I had carried them all in because she obviously wasn't allowed to lift anything heavy at 31 weeks pregnant. I set her box of clothes on the bedroom floor and Emily looked at me mischievously.
"You know." She said slowly. "You look really hot carrying those boxes." I knew what she was doing
"Emily. Stop. We need to unpack and go to sleep. We need sleep for once. How are you not tired of me yet?"
"Aaron." She drawled. "I will never get tired of you. And when we have a newborn this won't be able to happen for awhile so if you were smart you would take everything you could get now."
I considered her words. It was 10:45. Jack would be asleep soon. We weren't expecting visitors.
"Come on, answer me." She pleaded.
"I'll be back." I said as I walked out of the bedroom door.
(Emily's POV)
I laid on the bed waiting for Aaron to come back as I thought of the time JJ and Spencer came to pick up Henry and I was wearing this exact same t-shirt except now instead of coming down to my knees my stomach lifted it up so it was right below my ass. I don't know how no one realized that my night shirts are identical to the all the t-shirts Aaron wears in the photos from his teenage years. Gosh, Spencer was so embarrassed that night and that was back when the shirt reached my knees. Good thing Spencer sleeps in the other room. I'll have to remind Aaron to make me put real pants on in the morning with Spencer and all the kids being here.
Aaron had been gone for about a half an hour so I decided to put some shorts on and go see what everyone else in the house was doing.
Jack and Henry were asleep as expected. I made my way to the guest room where Reid was staying with Natalia.
I knocked. I heard shuffling and then the door opened.
"Oh hi Emily, I was expecting it to be Aaron screaming at me for eating the chocolate donut with his name on it." I looked at him.
"That was you?! I got yelled at for that! Well screw you Reid. Anyway have you seen Aaron?"
"Um no I haven't but if you wanna hang in here until he comes back we were about to read a story." He said this thoughtfully looking at his daughter. She really was a sweet girl. It's a shame JJ was so mad. I would've tried to help the situation but she outed me for letting Spencer stay here.
I stepped into the room and saw the quiet girl staring at me as I sat criss-cross in the plush armchair in the corner of the room. She hadn't spoken since her mom died yet she found ways to communicate. I wanted to hear her voice but I knew pushing her wouldn't help.
After about twenty minutes the girl was asleep and Spencer looked at me with tired eyes.
"Do you think JJ will ever take me back?" His voice almost cracked but he stopped it at the last second. "I really love her but I can't give up Natalia, not for anything as much as I may want it." This took me by surprise, sure Spencer and I were friends but we never really had heart to heart conversations like this.
"To be honest Spencer, let's put it this way, if it were Aaron and I and he told me to give up this baby... I'd probably be a lot harsher then you were." I paused and took a deep breath as I thought I heard a noise in the kitchen. "If you were looking for someone to tell you to apologize and compromise I'm not the one to come to. I say just be honest, and make sure you're very clear that she can see Henry whenever she wants and that you aren't against getting back together." His face turned toward the door and he looked at me.
"Umm I heard you and I agree with you.... but am I the only one that keeps hearing noise?" He replied
This time it came again but louder.
"Emily, do you think if I were to take Talia to Jack's room you could sit with all of them until we identify the central source of this noise?"
I knew the walk to Jack's bedroom from here was clear of the front rooms but I still felt worried about leaving the room. I didn't have a reason but it just felt odd. But I wanted to be with Jack.
"Yeah, I can do that. Just put her on my back I'll be fine." I wasn't so sure as I said those words but I knew it was very likely everything would be fine. The noise came again but it came from the back of the house towards Jack's room.... I left my gun in the bedside table.
"Emily I don't know if that's a good idea."
"Reid shut up do it and give me your ankle gun."
"Emily..."
"Reid shut up before I change my mind and listen already. You take the front of the house I'll take the back."
"Fine." He lifted Natalia onto my back and I stumbled a bit not used to the weight. He handed me the gun and loaded his revolver as I felt my face flush. This was fucking scary. And Aaron wasn't here.
We parted ways and I made it to Jacks room in a few moments. The two boys were sitting up in Jack's bed huddled together. I shut and locked the door placing Natalia on the bed next to the boys.
Not even moments later I saw the window open and a person leaned inside before I could make it to the window.
"Oh hello Emily..... fancy seeing you here. Is Aaron having the team over for slumber party's now?" The man said in a drunken slur.
I was shocked at the voice and the face. I was just shocked.
"May I ask why the hell you are here?"
