“W-w-w-water...”, Aaron mumbled. Me and Sky glanced at him. He was stirring, struggling to adjust his eyes to the light. This is where the Smartwatch comes in. I clicked on the vid record button. Sky poured him some water from a nearby flask.
“H-H-Huck? Th-that... you?”, Tyler who was facing Huck, grumbled in pain.
“W-w-w-w-where a-am I?”, Huck then howled in pain. The emergency button was right there but no one tended to press it.
Aaron looked at me and his eyes flashed anger. I gulped, guiltily. “Who the hell are you?! What are you doing with my sister?!”, he barked. Me and Sky looked at him confused. And then it hit me and we laughed. “What are you laughing at?! Sky, you had better tell me who this nitwit is before you get into an even bigger problem than you are in. You're not even eighteen!”, he scowled at Sky. I seriously couldn't stop laughing and Sky was punching my shoulder while laughing.
“Okay... Cool, big bro”, Sky guffawed.
“Cool? You expect me to stay COOL?!”, he snapped.
“Nice to meet you, bro. My name is Sander Willows”, I told him. Sky was banging her head on the wall, laughing. Aaron's anger only ignited a bit more making me chortle. “This-is-NOT-funny! Sky, I want him out of here", he said, grinding his teeth together.
“Would you chill out? It's Liz!”, she told him. He was about to snap but processed her sentence and the three started laughing.
“Sorry about that”, Aaron grinned sheepishly. “Though it’s your fault! What's with the get-up?”
“Exactly what I wanted to ask", said Tyler, getting help from Sky to get up. I shrugged.
“Disguise to sneak in"
“Sneak—NOW I remember!”, Huck's eyes snapped wide open.
“That Liz and Anne ate our legs? Yes. What a pleasant memory!”, Tyler snickered. I grinned sheepishly, “Your welcome for the early Halloween costume”
“And how we ended up in an elevator and what happened afterwards", added Aaron.
“Thank the first sky you and Anne got out safe!”, exclaimed Huck.
“Huck, there're seven skies. I would appreciate you thanking all seven and not just one", I affirmed. He chuckled and winced, holding his chest in pain.
“Erm... We'd like to know what happened back there”, said Sky.
“SKY FROST!”, Aaron bellowed looking at the doodle on his bandage. Sky looked at him innocently. “Why'd you do this?”
“It's pretty obvious it's drawn to annoy the wits out of you in which she succeeded. And besides, she fooled me when I came to unlock her. Messing with the Queen of Pranks is the worst stunt she could've pulled. I’ll fry something up. Get ready for an awful revenge!”, I smirked as the boys laughed while Sky was pleading me.
We told them everything that happened and they listened intently.
“Me, Huck and Aaron had just dropped off Zoe at her kindergarten and arrived at school when all of a sudden three anonymous men fought us in a dark alley they dragged us into. You know, the one near the KFC parking lot. Well, it was a short one cuz their leader decided to show up—"
I almost choked on the breath I had just pulled in. “Well, he had an uber dark face—no, he had a BLACK face. I tend to be rude—and he had purple bruised lips with a long scar on his right eye. A well-built redhead. His long hair was lanky. And... I think he wore an earring in his left ear. He held something like a box in his hand, except that it wasn't... It moved... I didn't get a clear view of what it was... but it had amethyst gleaming...I dunno if ‘eyes’ is what you'd call it. But... it had two round amethyst gleaming...something”, Aaron tried his best to describe it. Though it was enough for me to know that life was going in a totally different direction.
“Oh! He wore a silver chain like a name tag... There was something like D.A.T.A.O on it and below it there was a New York style Y on top of N", Aaron flicked his fingers in remembrance. He coughed a little from pain.
“Well, that bloke almost killed us before we were—doesn’t make sense, I know, but we were controlled. We gained consciousness when Liz and Anne pushed the slab, of the elevator they’d cut, on us”, said Huck. I whistled, looking up. Everyone chuckled. “We found ourselves wearing a weird suit...” “Camaflouged suit" “Yeah that! Hence, after the two of you escaped, the earlier three fools jumped in through the door you and Anne broke. They thwacked and stroked us. Consequently, we ended up here. I swear I felt death uncoil about to twirl around and crush me to death”, Huck left me and Sky speechless with an overflowing sky of emotions.
“So... you guys know why they're after us? Or you?”, asked the struggling Tyler. Sky went ahead to loosen some of the wires and shit.
“Huh? Last time I checked, we were not in league with them", I seethed, getting a glare from him.
“What if I say that we know you guys are after them? Or will be in the future”, he added the last sentence, shrugging.
“That would do us no harm considering the fact that we don't give a f—"
“Language, Liz!”, warned Aaron.
“What?”, I whined. “I was about to say fudge cake"
“Don't you think both have the same meaning?”, he raised his brows at me warningly.
“If I should lie, then yes. If I’m to be truthful, then no"
“End of language discussion!”, he mumbled annoyed.
“Anyways, what are you guys planning on doing?”, interrupted Huck.
“Who knows? It's not like you're gonna allow me to", she rolled her eyes at Aaron who widened his.
“Says who? I’m giving you permission, ONLY because I’m too sick to thwack that guy and because I’m way too pissed at them to say no", replied Aaron. Me and Sky stared at him blankly.
“And you want us to believe you?”, Sky scrawned her face.
“Why not you just accept the fact I gave you permission before I change my heart?”, he smiled at her in a sickeningly sweet voice. I nudged Sky to shut up and we shared a mega-squeal hug.
“Okay, Sky enough! You-you're sq-sq-squeezing...the-the living dayligh-daylights...out...of...me...”, I begged. She released me from her grip and looked at me awkwardly before speaking.
“Are you an extra-terrestrial funky alien from Mercury?”
“Why would you ask that?”
“No human has living daylights in their body"
I smacked her hard on her hard-core shell that protects her brain. I wonder if she has one.
“Now mind quietening? You're annoying to my sleep and I’m a SICK PATIENT! Kindly get outta here and besides the sleeping tablets might be wearing off. But that doesn't matter! Nothing matters more than a good night's sleep without two cows moo-ing near my bed post", Huck grumbled ungratefully.
“You do realise you're a stingy pig, right? Well, if you didn't, let me help you with that. You-are-a-stingy-pig!”, I stuck my tongue out at him. He shuffled and rolled his eyes. I smirked, inventing a plan in my head for our next meeting.
Right about then, the door slinked open revealing eight unhappy guards. They had their guns pointed at me and Sky with a pleased look. I'll just pray that I won't end up counting bars.
“SURRENDER!”, they yelled at us. We got up, frightened out of our wits. We paused our hands up.
“I thought you said you were here to meet your GRANDMOTHER? So what in all rooms are you doing here AND why did you let her out?”, one petitioned as I gave my throat a hard gulp. Already feels sore.
“I DID come here to meet her—” “Then what on earth are you doing HERE with HER?!”, another snarled. I quickly fried something up. “What are you talking about sir? I followed Sky in here to see how her brother's doing. And clearly, you allowed me to", I was praying that this would work and when it does, I'll make sure to be nice to Cronie if only for a second.
“What are you talking about, kid? We didn't see you enter, exit granny's room nor did we see Sky escape and nor did we see or give you two permission to meet him and nor—”
“What is up with all the ‘nor’s? You COULD use another word!”, I snapped realising what I'd just said. The guards eyes splinter at me. “Oh really now? You see, we couldn't see anything because SOMEONE had the guts to POISON us—"
“Excuse me, but clearly you were the ones who let me to my big bro and his friends telling me he was awake. And then, Sed?”, Sky played along. She was a bad liar. I mean, who would wake the sis but not the parents? Weird logic if you ask me.
“Well, that was the exact timing that I left my grandma's and I saw Sky walking to the other room. I was allowed to tag along. Look, this is a lame prank”, I sighed tiredly. The guards shared confounded looks.
“I’m not sure I’m catching up to what you're saying, kid", an acne-covered guard confessed. “But what's your relationship with Sky?”
I smacked my face with fake irritation. “I already TOLD you before! I’m Sky's boyfriend”, I said, glaring with a pissed look. Aaron gave a few loud surprise coughs. Sky on the other hand tried her level best to keep her face serious and not get us in trouble by laughing her mouth off.
“Oh alright... Care to explain why we were on the floor?”, shot the Nigerian guy. “And why do I have a security jammer in my pocket?”
Sky looked at me with panic clear in her eyes. “There's a new jam flavour by the name of Security? I neva knew! I’ll buy us that once you're out of hospital room arrest, my left kidney!”, I winked at her. Sky had a hard time controlling her urge to laugh so she let a small chuckle out.
“Ya sure thing, my right eye!”, Sky grinned at me and the guards looked the other way, blushing profusely and mumbling something about ‘Teenagers these days...’.
“It doesn't matter... Be outta the room in less than five minutes”, a tanned one moaned, leading the others out, giving us privacy. How dumb could they be? Not that I was wanting it to be like they’re so damn smart that they knew my plan from the very beginning.
Once they were out, we had a long gale. “I just remembered something!”, Aaron almost flipped off the bed.
“You'll get to know eventually”, grinned Huck.
“Please, press the emergency button before you get out. I want my bandage changed", Aaron gave Sky the death glare that made her stumble amongst three chairs making me giggle. She shot me a look that said ‘Yo! You wrecked witch of the west! You're supposed to be my BFF!’, so I gave her a look saying ‘Isn't that why I'm laughing instead of helping you up’ only to get a look that says ‘Either way! You're not supposed to partner up with those three and laugh!’. I rolled my eyes at her and helped her up grudgingly.
I didn't have any problem leaving the hospital and sneaking into my room. The guards were really lazy, leaning near the orange street lights.
