We were on our way back to homeroom when Violet and her gang blocked our path. Her skin was of a dark chocolate and her hair was that of a octopus’s ink and her eyes were a gloomy black. She had a distasteful sense in fashion. She was wearing a baby pink Hawaiian frock with peach, orange, green, yellow and white daffodils along with pyjama pants. At least that’s what I think it looks like.

We ignored them, pushing past only to be thrust down. Ouch! “LOOK, JUST LEAVE US THE HECK ALONE!”, Rachel blew up.

“Or what?”, Violet snickered as Rachel painfully helped me up. “You snitches gonna fight us?”

“If we hafta”, I replied sensibly.

She looked at me incredulously. “This pipsqueak and that volcano are gonna fight us five—”

“WATCH WHAT YOU CALL LIZ! ONLY BS IS ALLOWED TO CALL HER THAT!”

“WATCH WHAT YOU CALL RACHEL! ONLY BS IS ALLOWED TO CALL HER A VOLCANO!”

     “Bond much?”, Ingrid smirked.

“You know what we best play at, bestie?”, Rachel turned to me with wriggling eyelashes.

     “Ignoring”, I smirked.

“You guys are so filthy! How could you have done that to your seniors?”, mocked Jess.

“Like this”, I said as I flipped her grabbing her hand, twisting it and throwing her over my shoulders. I learnt that from YouTube. Rachel burst out with fits of giggles. “Now we go!”, she grinned, holding my hand as we stalked past them.

Violet clearly lost her temper cuz the next second, I was pinned to the wall of lockers by her making everyone gasp.

“Don't say I didn’t warn ya!”, Rachel waved her hand negligently.

I broke into a painful smile as I punched her in the abdomen. In the end, all seven of us got into a fight in a solitary corridor.

There was this part where Rachel stood in between me and Rose and got tackled down by Lia. “STOP IN THE NAME OF HARRY POTTER!”, someone screeched, earning all our attention. It was Theo. What the...?

I removed my hand from strangling Violet's mouth and got up, dusting off the dirt as everyone followed Rachel. Theo rushed to our aid and I winced as he touched my arm. That hurts!

Rachel was barely able to stand so Theo helped her, swinging her right arm over his shoulder so she has support from falling over. She resisted at first but gave in. My ankle was bleeding but not as much as Rachel's.

“Th-Theo? W-what are you doing here?”, Lia blurted out. They’re all classmates. Grade 10. Theo gnarled at them. “You know, you should have a leash on this bitch. She threatened me with a blade”, snivelled Violet. Theo glared my way and I gulped.

“When you had that chance of stabbing her, why didn’t you?!”, he groaned. I let out a chuckle at the sceptic faces.

“Theo!”, Rachel silenced him. “She'd actually do it!”

“And I wouldn’t object since these five are a pain in the rear end”

     “Act a bit mature!”

“I AM acting mature by giving Liz permission to stab that fool!”

     “Seems to me like lunacy!”

“Puh-leeesh! You know it would be a great sacrifice for the world when these five are stabbed!”

“Yo, she’s my BFF! Our group will lose a nutcase if she’s sent to jail!”

     “That's not sentimental!”

“Liz hates sentiments! As her bestie, I know she’s an idiot who might actually stab her if permission given!”

“Guys, I’m right next to you! Will you please stop talking as if I do not exist?!”, I said warily. I was leaning on the locker holding my left shoulder where I might have a painful concussion.

“And Theo... What in the name of Peter Rabbit is happening?!”, shrieked my twin entering the side-lines. Not my twin, it’s Ashton.

“Oh, we were celebrating our reunion at school”, I smiled sarcastically. His eyes darted towards everyone one of us and when they landed on Violet, he gave her a death glare which was a surprise to her since she knows Ashton to be a calm fella.

“No one messes with my friends! And what in the world were you thinking fighting with two harmless girls?!”

Before Violet could say anything, Theo and Rachel brought their free hands up. “Don't think of adding Liz threatening you with a blade!”, they said in sync while I let out a low whistle. Ashton gave me a skepticism look. I grinned impishly and he let out a sigh.

“Do you really find the need of having a blade everywhere you go crucial?”

“I should’ve stabbed her when I got the chance”, I murmured.

“So you could spend eternity in prison?”, snapped Rachel.

“Hello! We’re here too!”, Rose waved at us sarcasticall
y.
“Yeah, we can see that. Scram before things get ugly!”, Theo frowled.

“Wow... You make a perfect fit for a bear”, I commented.

“Liz! You’re a mood-killer! That moment was supposed to be intimidating!”, Rachel whimpered.

“And bears are intimidating!”, Ashton defended with a chuckle.

“Oh no, Ashy! You didn’t call me a bear, did you?”, Theo raised his brows.

“One, it’s either Ash or Ashton. Two, I DID just call you a bear”, Ashton replied coolly.

     “Ashy, Ashy, Ashy, Ashy, Ashy!”

     “Bear, bear, bear, bear, bear!”

     “Ashy, Ashy, Ashy, Ashy, Ashy!”

     “Bear, bear, bear, bear, bear!”

     “Ashy, Ashy, Ashy, Ashy, Ashy!”

     “Bear, bear, bear, bear, bear!”

“You boys are the worst!”, complained Rachel.

“I know right! Two girls are dying in front of them while they quarrel as if the world is gonna end if they’re called something other than their name”, I agreed solemnly.

“If I remember correctly, Rachel and Theo were having an argu—”, Jess’s sentence wasn’t completed.

“We did not ask for your opinion! Get lost!”, the four of us shouted in a bored voice.

They made faces before limping to their classroom.
“Ashton, take them to the infirmary while I go have as nice chat with my homeroom teacher as well as theirs. Erm... Who’s your teacher, again?”, Theo cocked his brow. “Ms. Angel” “Right... Ashton... Can we change assignments?”

“Don't even think about it, Theo. The reason I skipped school was because of a big project she gave for us to complete a month ago and we haven’t even bought ourselves pencils yet”

After loads of nagging, Ashton was supporting Rachel while I limped behind him. When we passed the vending machine near the basketball court, I broke the silence. “Ash—Is that okay?”, I looked at him and he gave a nod following a giggle. “Yeah, so why you at school? And Theo”

“Theo’s big bro, Rex had to pay the fees and I needed to borrow something very urgent from Zeke. Theo tagged along and had Rex pick me up as well”

Me and Rachel gave an “Oh”. “We’re here!”, he said halting near the white door and gave a knock. “May we come in?”. No answer. “I'll go ask the receptionist”, he said, sauntering away.

I couldn’t support Rachel with my whole body ever since it became this mess but I managed. “Lemme help!”, Ashton returned, helping Rachel. Though his eyes weren’t on how to stop her from slipping off but my left index finger. Rachel's as well as my eyes trailed down to my left finger which was dripping with blood!
