Surprise
AS THE HUGE DOOR of the Chantal's house's slowly opened, my eyes met a hot looking guy standing inside the house. He was wearing a suit and believe me he looks good in it. I often see him in a suit so I might just say that it's unusual to my eyes.
He handed me the ivory rose he was holding. When I was young, I learnt about the meanings of roses with their different colors. If I'm not mistaken an ivory rose represents charm, thoughtfulness, gracefulness and are great for letting someone know you care for them just without romantic intentions. I smiled at the thought of its meaning.
Kuya Brandon patted my head whilst a genuine smile plastered on his lips. "Time flies so fast that I didn't expect this coming. Wishing you all the happiness, my baby. You can always run to me if you have something to ask, just like the old times."
I nodded whilst smiling.
"Now, off you go," he said.
"To where?"
"Just go. Walk."
Malamang kuya maglalakad talaga alangan namang lumipad ako?
Naglakad ako papasok ng bahay habang patingin-tingin sa paligid. Sobrang tahimik ng bahay na kahit ni isang kasambahay ay wala akong makita. Nasaan kaya ang mga tao rito? Bakit ba ako pinapasok ni kuya rito kung wala namang tao? Is he kidding me?
I was talking to myself as I entered the living room, but got startruck when I saw a joker in a suit.
"Hey, baby!"
Just kidding, the truth is he looks so fresh wearing that suit. He was also holding a rose just like kuya Brandon. But this time, it's not an ivory rose instead it's a yellow rose. Warmth, gladness, and affection is what it conveys. It is a rose that is used to say welcome back, good luck, and remember me.
I look up at him. Of course, I'll remember you forever.
"Come here. Give me a warm hug." He spread his arms waiting for me to hug him. Lumapit naman ako't niyakap siya. So, what is it this time?
"You're the most beautiful girl I've ever met, baby," malambing niyang sinabi.
"Uhum, are you sure there's nothing wrong with your eyes?" I bantered.
"Of course there's nothing wrong with my eyes. I'm telling the truth, baby."
He looked at me and cupped my face. "Naging crush nga kita noon, e. Alam mo iyon? Pinsan kita pero nagka-crush ako sa 'yo, putangina. Hala hindi ikaw ang minumura ko ha. Minumura ko sarili ko. Ekspresyon lang iyon."
Natawa ako. "Hindi mo na kailangang magpaliwanag. Tanga ka ba, kuya? Ekspresyon talaga iyon."
Humawak ito sa kaniyang dibdib at nakasimangot na tumingin sa 'kin. "Ang harsh mo na sa 'kin? 'Di mo na 'ko love? Porke may Earl ka na?"
"Oh ba't nasali si Chaz sa usapan natin?"
"Ah basta... doon ka na nga sa kaniya, hmp."
Hindi ko napigilan ang mapahalakhak dahil sa mukha nito. Mukha na naman siyang pato ngayong nakasimangot siya.
"Anyway...." Bigla itong sumeryoso. "Basta huwag mo 'kong kakalimutan ha. 'Pag kailangan mo ng lambing huwag ka lang kay Earl humanap. Marunong din akong maglambing 'no. Iyon lang gusto kong sabihin. Humayo ka na."
Napangisi ako. "Humayo... that was so deep kuya ha. I'm so proud of you."
Umiling-iling itong tumatawa at saka ako pinagtulakan palayo sa kaniya. "Darn, just go."
