emotions are weird aren't they? but also such a hassle. one moment you're happy and then the next you're feeling like you're drowning.
i've mastered the art of not giving a fuck, the art of not saying yes all the time, the art of smiling throughout the day. i've basically become a robot masked with a feminine face and a small frame...and people never knew i'm like this.
naeun was ranting about something again today, i listened ofcourse. the more i did the more i became exhausted, but i smiled at her and told her i'm here for her and she burst in tears thanking me for being so supportive. that's not completely true. it's just human nature, just an instinct to say these things to people who're having it rough without even truly understanding what the person feels.
i'm just...out of touch.
"do you always say no to everything?" naeun complained. she was trying to ask you to accompany her to a party.
"no."
"see you did it again."
"yes." you reply. "well at least you said yes for once." she says and you giggle at her frustration.
"hey, hot guy behind you don't look." she whispered at you and you immediately looked behind. "jesus christ y/n i just told you." she massaged her temples in frustration.
"uhm hello?" apparent hot guy says.
"hello." you say with a small smile. "she says you're hot."
"thank you...y/n" naeun sinks in her seat. hot guy tilts his head to look at naeun. "thanks!"
"no problem." naeun says visibly embarrassed. you turn back to naeun without saying a word. "will you ever not embarrass me?" naeun complains and you just shrug.
"anyways...the party-"
"no."
"awww come on y/n please?!" naeun pleaded. "johnny, your boyfriend, can accompany you." you simply say.
"but we went to one last time i just want a break from him since we're literally together 24/7" naeun complain.
"that's the consequence of leaving me alone at the dorm to live in an apartment with seo." you stick your tongue out at her.
"you'll meet guys there"
"i can meet guys anywhere...oh look see hot guy is here." you point at the hot guy from earlier who was standing by the counter paying for a book. "oh god." naeun just hides her face in embarrassment.
"y/n...will you ever be not embarrassing..." naeun complains. "no i don't think so." you say with an innocent smile.
"jaehyun by the way" he says after walking over to you and naeun.
"hello, jaehyun i'm so sorry about my friend here." naeun gestures to you. "i'm not sorry about me, anyways, i'm-"
"y/n, yeah i heard it earlier." jaehyun says.
"don't worry about naeun she won't pounce on you, she has a boyfriend." you tease.
"oh well, lucky guy." jaehyun says and naeun nods and smiles. "well i'm off, see you guys around." you say then walk away from them not bothering to look behind.
"george clooney, yeah that's the one." you say through the phone.
"goddammit y/n, did you really just call randomly cause you couldn't remember the white guy in ocean's 11." naeun says through the other line.
"hey, there were a lot of white guys there how could i h-"
"that's not the point!" naeun yells. "i was busy ok?"
"why? were you guys fucking?" you ask not bothered about the other people in the grocery store who could hear you.
"ugh. yes. bye." naeun says then she ends the call.
you hear someone snickering beside you and see that it's jaehyun.
"oh hello hot guy jaehyun!" you hold up your hand for a high five and jaehyun awkwardly reciprocates.
"you don't have to say hot guy everytime you see me. i'm just jaehyun."
"ok just jaehyun, watcha doin?" you ask while peeking at his basket. it was full of beers.
"beer party by myself." jaehyun admits.
"hmm yeah i do that a lot." you say.
"well we can drink these together...if you want...at my place." jaehyun offers. "oh that'd be cool!" you reply. "you should get these too." you put another 3 beers on his basket with a different brand because your skin is really thick like that.
"araso, what time would you prefer?" jaehyun asks. "well now, if you're not doing anything." you say and jaehyun nods shyly.
"demon slayer is really fun." you say as you're browsing through his netflix. "oh really? i haven't really watched any anime so i'll give it a shot." jaehyun says then you play the 1st episode.
you see him glance at you from time to time from the corner your eye so you face him and start staring at him which made him uncomfortable in his seat. you paused the episode then looked back at him. "you kept looking at me while tanjiro was battling that demon." you tell him with a smile.
"oh, mianhe." jaehyun says softly.
"why? do you like me?" you tease him. "i mean, i dont know i find you attractive." he replies.
you got on your knees beside him and placed an innocent peck on his lips. he was initially shocked but then grabbed your face to kiss you passionately. you guys were full on making out now.
you've done things like this before and it was nothing to you as long as nobody would get hurt. you never assumed that the guy would fall for you because it just never happens, so you settled with something like this, just flings that won't blossom into anything more.
"you don't have a girlfriend do you?" you asked after breaking the kiss. "what? no, i'm single." jaehyun says then went back to kissing you.
he was a good kisser. really good. when his hand was slowly snaking up under your shirt you let him. when he laid you down on his couch so he could kiss you harder you let him. but when he was trying to unbutton your jeans you decide to stop him.
"take me to dinner first." you say after breaking the kiss.
"oh yeah you're right." he gets off of you and sits back down on the pillow at the floor. you sit beside him and give him a smile. "you're good at kissing." you admit. "thank you, so are you." he replies, his dimples popping out from his cheeks. it was comfortable, despite the situation, you two weren't awkward afterwards.
when you two got to the kitchen to eat his leftover lasagna it was comfortable. even as you two were kissing again, soft kisses as if you're a couple.
he likes it too much, likes you too much.
"can i take you to dinner tomorrow?" jaehyun asks. "sure. where?" you reply before eating a bite of lasagna.
"how bout japanese food?" he suggests and you nod. "i love anything japanese." you giggle.
