A day had gone by since Casiell's encounter with her next door neighbor. She'd only seen him a few times before, but this was her first interaction with him. She wondered what he thought about her. Maybe he thought she was weird and wanted to stay away from her. For her, that was a positive thing. Scared neighbors meant less interactions.
Casiell hadn't left the apartment since the encounter, partly because she didn't need to and partly because she didn't want to see that red haired guy again. Yesterday's encounter was embarrassing and she didn't want that to happen again.
Casiell sat on her couch and looked around. Her apartment was quite comfortable. There was plenty of space to move around, cozy furniture and nice decor, and everything she needed to go about her daily life. Since she rarely stepped out of her house and had no friends, she depended on the internet for entertainment. She would spend hours writing comics and books under an anonymous account. Her work got a lot of views and was very popular. That was how she made a living. It was an easy job since she didn't need to go outside for it or interact with anyone. What made her happy was all the people that viewed her stories and gave her positive feedback and support. it was the only nice thing about her life. Casiell thought about the not so nice things as images flashed through her head; horrified people, the screaming, the pain.
"How did my life get so miserable?" Casiell asked no one in particular. "Oh yeah," she thought gloomly, "It became miserable after I found out I was cursed." She slumped onto her chair and groaned. Casiell was cursed. She was not your ordinary girl. In fact, she wasn't even human. She was cursed to be half devil, or half demon depending on how you prefer it. Some might say that it wasn't such a bad thing, but oh if they did, then they would be wrong. Being half demon made Casiell go out of control if she got too emotional. Her emotions would drive her nuts and her inner demon side would start to appear. She would scream and twitch until she turned into a mortifying creature who would rage and break things in her path. When she became demon, she couldn't control herself or her actions, which made her very dangerous to anyone or anything around her. Therefore, she preferred staying at home so she wouldn't hurt anyone. Anything could happen that might lead her to changing. Changing meant turning into a demon. She didn't want anyone to find out about it. She didn't want people to think she was a monster. It would get pretty lonely always being at home, but this was how it was for her since she was 13. She'd gotten used to it by now.
Casiell looked at her laptop and decided to write the next chapter of her new series 'Unrequited Love'. She laughed because she had never experienced real love before but wrote stories about love that people actually liked to read. It was ironic. Most of her knowledge on love came from movies she had watched or books she had read. She wondered how it would be like to feel 'love'. She wanted to experience it but believed that she couldn't, considering her unfortunate circumstances. She sighed and went back to writing her series.

Yael Wood sat at the edge of his bed, deep in thought. He remembered his encounter with his strange neighbor and chuckled. He put a hand through his hair as he thought about the girl next door. She was actually quite pretty. She had long blonde hair, beautiful golden eyes, and skin as pale as the moon. Her features were quite angelic and thinking about her made Yael blush. He was surprised by his reaction and put his hand to cover his face. "That girl.....I really want to know more about her......" he said to himself.Yael glanced towards his desk and looked at the tarot cards spread across it. He went to his desk and touched the cards. He felt his fingers tingle and get colder. He felt the presence of something that wasn't human and felt the air around him decrease in temperature. Yael was a psychic, which meant that he could see things people couldn't normally see, such as spirits or demonic entities. Since he was young, he had been able to see ghosts and spirits. Everywhere he went he was greeted by some sort of entity or spirit. It used to be unsettling at first but soon he got used to it and now he was rarely fazed by it. He even talked to some ghosts who were friendly. There was a ghost that lived right there on the second floor where Yael and his neighbor lived. He was a friendly and helpful ghost who kept Yael company while he was home. Yael wondered where the ghost was since he hadn't had any encounters with him since morning.
Yael heard a slight rustling sound and turned around to see his blanket being folded by a figure. He grinned, "Look who's back. Thought you ascended or something." "Oh please. I'll ascend when I want to," the figure spoke. That was a ghost, also known as Yael's best friend. Yael always felt like it got colder whenever the ghost was around but he didn't mind. "You seem really interested in that neighbor girl, " the ghost said, smirking. Yael was caught off guard and almost toppled over. "What....how did you....," he started. "You think I wasn't there when that incident happened yesterday?" The ghost began, "I think that girl is interesting too. There's something.....different about her aura." "oh?" Yael said, intrigued, "I sensed something strange as well. There seems to be some kind of energy near her apartment." "It might be another spirit," the ghost guessed. "Maybe, but I don't think she knows about it and I feel like we should maybe tell her about it," Yael said. The ghost laughed, "You just want to get closer to her, don't you?" Yael blushed and stormed off into the kitchen followed by the ghost.
"You know....maybe you could go to her house to investigate the energy or something and get closer to her," the ghost suggested, grinning. Yael glanced at him and smiled, "That wouldn't be....bad." "I feel like she isn't that good at talking to people considering what happened yesterday. She seemed like a very shy and awkward person," the ghost said blatantly. "Yeah but there's probably a reason for that. She almost never comes out of her apartment. She seems really lonely," Yael said, looking worried. The ghost nodded in agreement. Yael looked in the refrigerator and sighed. "No eggs. Guess we gotta head to the convenience store, Oliver," he said, groaning. Oliver the ghost chuckled, "Who knows? Maybe you'll see her."
