The wooden floor creaked as Yael stepped into his bedroom. Casiell was deep in sleep on the bed.
Yael carefully walked to the bed and sat on the edge beside Casiell.
"Hey, Cas," Yael said, gently trying to wake her up.
He wanted to talk to her and try to understand more about what the photo that he saw last night meant.
Cassiel groaned and turned towards him. 'You need to wake- ' Yael started but was interrupted as she suddenly grabbed his arm and pulled him towards her, still half asleep.
Too shocked to react, Yael got pulled into the bed with her as she yanked his arm.
Yael blushed and was too embarrassed and startled to do anything. Casiell pulled him closer and snuggled her face in his shirt.
At this point Yael was gonna explode because his heart was beating terribly fast so he tried to get out of her embrace without waking her up.
He tried to remove her arm but before he could do that Casiell groaned and then opened her eyes.
She squinted trying to make out the red fluffy thing in front of her. As the redness became clearer she realized it was hair - Yael's hair.
She saw Yael's face and realized she was hugging him tightly in bed. They both stared at each other with wide eyes.
'CAS! I- I- CAN EXPLAIN!' Yael yelled in nervousness trying to find the right words to explain what was happening right now.
'Why?' Casiell murmured, without pushing Yael away or trying to get out of the bed.
'What..?' Yael repeated a bit confused.
'I don't understand. You keep doing these things to me, you keep making me feel flustered!' Casiell exclaimed, with her arms still around Yael.
'I don't do any of this on purpose okay? I'm not that kind of guy, I swear! Just let me explain!' Yael said embarrassed.
'You keep making me feel all these strange emotions- yet I-' Casiell murmured.
'Yet you what?' Yael asked in anticipation.
Yet I never go out of control or change, Casiell thought in her head. She couldn't say that to him though.
'Yet I never push you away,' Casiell said instead.
'Oh,' Yael said a little bit shy.
'If it were someone else, I would never have trusted them- but you- you make me feel different. I told you about my past which I would never have told anyone else, I went to the amusement park with you- like- I never went anywhere with anyone except for my aunt! I even- I live with you now and wear your clothes! I don't know what I'm feeling- I- I really don't understand this!' Casiell exclaimed.
Yael stared at her in shock. He felt surprised because Casiell was opening up about her emotions and feelings. It made him feel like she trusted him.
They both looked at each other with wide eyes.
Yael started to move a little closer to Casiell.
His face moved closer and closer.
Casiell's heart was beating so fast it felt like it would come out of her chest.
Their faces were inches apart and just as Casiell thought that what she thought was gonna happen, Oliver barged into the room and yelled, 'GUYS!'
He looked at Casiell and Yael who were practically stuck to each other and said, 'Am I....interrupting something?'
They both fumbled out of bed and stumbled on to the floor in embarrassment. They stared at each other and then at Oliver with faces as red as Betelgeuse.
'I didn't know you guys would jump to that part so fast~' Oliver said, with a cheeky grin.
'THAT'S NOT WHAT WE WERE DOING!' Yael yelled in a flustered manner and ran out of the room, literally through Oliver.
Casiell stared at the door, dumbfounded.
'Usually it'd be you who'd run out of the room but today's different I guess,' Oliver snickered.
Casiell didn't say anything and looked away.
'Come on, you can always get back to doing what you were. The freaky spirit dude just whipped open a portal and went through it but I guess it isn't that import-' Oliver started.
'WHAT?? WE NEED TO FOLLOW HIM!' Casiell yelled before he could finish and stood up.
Oliver smirked and leaned against the door to let Casiell through.
Yael was sitting on the sofa outside, still embarrassed.
'Yael there's a portal outside right now and the freak just went through it. We're going to follow him,' Oliver stated bluntly.
'Wait what!? Are you crazy? We're trying to NOT go near him, remember?' Yael yelled in confusion.
'If we follow him we might get answers.'
'Let's go Yael come on!' Casiell told him despite being embarrassed by what happened earlier.
Yael reluctantly followed them as they all went out the door.
They stopped short as they saw a large glowing circle in the middle of the air. It was filled with an eerie blue fog and dust that swirled in circles.
'What the heck is THAT?' Yael asked in surprise.
'It's a portal that the old dude used to get through. I'm guessing it leads to the spirit realm,' Oliver explained.
'So the creep that was freeloading in my house finally left? AND now we're going to follow him because we're crazy?' Casiell scoffed making Yael snicker.
'We might get answers if we follow him. I feel like there's a bigger reason to why a Greater Spirit would start living in an ordinary girl's house and try to KILL HER,' Oliver replied.
Casiell and Yael looked at each other.
'Let's go,' they both said in unison.
Oliver nodded and flew right in through the portal without a second thought.
Yael gulped and looked at Casiell. He mustered up his courage and held out a hand to her.
She took it, her face turning a soft shade of pink.
They both looked at the apartment door one last time before jumping into the portal after Oliver.
They had no idea of what was awaiting them.
