The Truth

Casiell felt the curious eyes of Yael and Oliver on her. There was no escaping this. She'd been trying her best to hide her secret but now she had no choice but to tell them the truth and expect for the worst. Nothing good ever happened to her. Everytime, she'd try to make her life normal, it would somehow turn upside down again.
The curse was nothing but a disease that caused her to lead a miserable life.
She wondered what she had done to deserve this fate. She felt hopeless, as if all was coming to an end. She had finally come out of her shell and started trusting people, people like Yael and Oliver who actually cared about her and befriended her even though she was awkward and shy, but life had other ideas.
Her eyes felt watery as she stared at the floor and contemplated her life. Don't cry, don't cry, I don't want him to see me so weak, she thought, forcing her tears back. I don't want Yael to see me like that, she thought. Since when did she care so much about how she looked in front of Yael?
Her heart started to beat faster as she thought about what would happen if she told him the truth.
She felt a sick feeling in her stomach. She was nervous, scared that he might leave her.
Her heart started to thump in her ears.
She thought about how she first met him. How he started to help her, then care for her, then became her friend. Now she was feeling something strong for him. Something she'd never felt before. Something she didn't understand.
She finally snapped out of her thoughts and looked at Yael.
He was standing right there, in front of her, waiting for her to speak.
She couldn't see anything else. The only thing she wanted to see was him.
What am I feeling, she thought to herself.
Casiell inhaled, trying to calm herself down.
"Cas....you okay?" Yael said gently, bending down to look at her.
She looked at him, with eyes full of emotions that she didn't understand.
"Come on now, tell them the truth already you sneaky-" The ghost started but gasped when Yael's sword almost cut his head off as it hit the wall beside him.
Yael glared at him, then turned towards Casiell with a warm look in his eyes.
"I-" Casiell started but stopped.
Why was this happening to her? Why couldn't she have friends?
"I'm not human," Casiell finally said.
The whole room went quiet. Casiell looked down at her feet ready to accept what would come next.
"Yeah we figured that out," Oliver said casually.
Casiell looked at him in shock. They knew?? But they still decided to be with her??
"Casiell, we didn't mean to invade your personal life or anything....but we found a picture of you and your parents...and you had wings in that picture," Yael said nervously waiting for Casiell to get mad at them for meddling in her private business.
"THAT PICTURE!" Casiell gasped, "Well what can we do about it now, I guess you guys deserve to know the truth."
Yael and Oliver looked at her in anticipation.
"I'm a half angel," Casiell said looking down at her feet, "I have angel blood in me."
She looked up to see Yael and Oliver's faces. They didn't seem scared, or freaked out. They actually seemed relieved, excited.
"That's just...wow...," Yael said admiringly.
Casiell was shocked to hear that they weren't freaking out or getting angry at her for hiding it.
"So then...where are your wings?" Oliver asked curiously.
"I can hide them or show them according to my own will," She said, and stood up from the chair.
She raised her arms higher and a bright light appeared, making the room glow. The light spiralled around her until two large, feathered wings appeared behind her back. They were white, and magnificent.
Oliver and Yael gaped at her in wonder.
The light disappeared and Casiell showed off her wings.
"Holy.....you're....beautiful," Yael murmured, making Casiell blush to her core.
"I have never seen an angel before, this is insanity," Oliver said, shocked.
Casiell stroked her hair shyly.
"Why were you hiding this from us? You're wonderful, with and without the angel blood," Yael said.
Casiell looked at him and realized something. Oliver and Yael didn't care if she was an angel or not. They didn't care about any of that. They cared about her for who she really was and nothing could change that. How could she have doubted them?
"Well- because- there's more to it than just that," Casiell said, taking a deep breath. She was preparing for what was to come next.
Yael and Oliver glanced at each other in confusion.
"Go on Brat," The Spirit scoffed, starting to feel ignored.
Yael glared at him with scary eyes, making him back off into his silent corner.
"Go on Cas," He said, turning away from the Spirit.
Casiell gulped. She grabbed onto her chair and looked at Yael with eyes full of nervousness.
She inhaled, then finally said, "I'm cursed."
"What?? How!? Is it bad?" Yael said, worried.
Oliver floated towards him, to be nearer to them.
"A curse?" He asked.
"Yes, I am cursed. When I was very young, I got cursed by some....thing," She explained.
"Something cursed you?" Yael repeated, surprised.
"But why? And what is this curse anyways?" Oliver asked.
"I don't know why- but- the curse has made my emotions unstable- like, If I get too angry, too embarrassed, too sad,  or too excited- then I get taken over by the demonic part of my soul," She explained.
"DEMONIC PART? YOU'RE HALF DEMON?" Oliver asked, flabbergasted.
"Not exactly! I wasn't born like this, but when I got cursed, a demonic seed was merged with my angelic seed, making my emotions and powers unstable," Casiell said.
"So, a 'seed' is like something that gives you the angel or demon powers?" Yael inquired.
"Yes. I can control my angelic powers, but not the demonic side," She answered.
Yael suddenly got very quiet. Casiell looked at him, thinking how he must be so freaked out by this.
She shook her head. No. That's not how Yael was. He was a caring, loving, kind boy. Oliver and Yael both accepted her for who she was.
She felt a bit relieved. She had finally gotten this secret off her chest.

Suddenly she felt arms going around her, pulling her into a tight embrace. Her eyes grew wide, and it felt like time stopped right at that moment. Casiell and Yael were hugging her tightly. She felt so warm at that moment. She felt safe, accepted, loved. A tear dropped down her cheek as she took in that happy moment.
"Can I join in too-" The spirit started but was cut off as a sword sliced through the air and hit the wall beside him, narrowly missing his head. "Okay," He whimpered.
"I promise you, I'll find out who did this to you, and I'll kill them," Yael said, full of rage.
"I'll tear him to pieces," Oliver smirked.
Casiell squeezed them tightly. She was never letting go off them. They were her first real friends. She used to have a hard time trusting people. But they both filled her with joy everytime she saw them. They helped her, and accepted her, even though she wasn't normal. They made her feel normal. And Yael? He made her feel something she didn't even understand. But whatever it was that he made her feel, she knew it was the reason she could control her emotions around him.
She was going to find out what it was.
