I always say this but I'm so freaking grateful for you guys, I never expected anyone to read anything I had to write, so 30k on this is just insane I can't even fathom it. This will be some more bonus stuff I have been working on for way too long, I should have had it out earlier. I really love you guys, always feel free to reach out if you need someone to talk to, I'll be here <3
Wooyoung
My feet skid across the dirt as I hop off the bus, making sure to thank the bus driver prior to exiting, more than any of the seniors before me managed to do. I was still annoyed that San had to be put on the first bus to sit with the senior council and principal, but I was more than relieved that we'd have some free time to ourselves now that I had arrived.
The retreat center was meant to help us bond, but if I had previous retreats to go off of, it would most likely be more focused on shoving whatever preachy bullshit they had prepared for us down our throats. I was tired just thinking of all the long talks and silent prayer sessions I'd have to endure over the course of the week-long stay, groaning internally as I watch a few eager girls gush over the 'beautiful architecture' of the chapel we were dropped off at. I wait patiently at the foot of the garden bed before the door for Yunho and Yeosang who were trailing behind after Yeosang left his DS underneath his seat.
Yeosang hops to my side, dusting off his khakis and swatting away Yunho who tries to pick out the leaf that had nestled into his hair. I try to smile back at them, but the know better than anyone that this retreat meant bad news for me. If I were to be called on randomly to give out theology facts or a thoughtful response to a deep question, I might as well be banished. Now then again that sounded nice.
"Where's lover boy?" Yunho smirks, shoving a pack of goldfish crackers from his bag into his pockets while the teacher who just descended from the gasoline smelling bus shouted about putting our bags by the front door.
"Pretty sure he's out in the courtyard, or at least he said something like that. He went on and on about the schedule but I forgot it all." I admit, trying my best to remember the order of things from what San had told me from before we separated for our three hour bus ride.
"How else am I supposed to know when it's meal time?" Yeosang kicks a hefty rock across the lawn, landing square on a girl's ankle, and she whines at the surprise of it.
"Yeosang!" She shouts, ready to fight but her friend pulls her back. I recognize the two from my Spanish class, but I didn't spend much time talking to other people in that class over the course of this year anyway (how could I when the devilishly gorgeous Choi San was next to me?) and I didn't know much about either of them.
"Sana, hey!" Yunho runs up to her, kicking up more dust from the rock path which coat over the cuffs of our pants.
"She is the lead in the play with me, guys!" He announces, eager to finally introduce us, and I wave shyly, not liking the idea of attempting to gather more friends, but figuring I should at least familiarize myself with the rest of my class in case we get paired up later on. "That's Yeosang, and that's Wooyoung. Guys this is Sana, and Jihyo." Yunho finishes introductions, his arm around Sana's shoulder, and she doesn't seem to mind it.
"We know Wooyoung." Jihyo laughs, and Sana gives her a dirty look that suggests she shouldn't be so obvious.
"Guess I'm pretty infamous, it's nice to properly meet you both." That was true, too. These days I couldn't get through the hallway without a few weird looks, but as long as San was around, I learned to ignore the heavy half of it. He stopped letting the offhand comments get to him as soon as Yeji stood up for him, and I never ceased to marvel at his confidence, or Yeji's for that matter.
