"Jeremiah," Winston screamed down the phone, "did you here that? This phone is being tracked. Who the hell did you give your number too?" Jeremiah then cursed as the line went dead. He hated to upset his maker.

"That sounds as if it went well." Isaac laughed at his brother, trying in some way to console him.

Isaac's eyes became wide when Jeremiah replied, "the call was being tracked. Someone has my number Isaac."

"Who?" Isaac replied.

"There is only one person I've given my number too lately and that was Jason's nurse. I bet she gave it to him when he woke up. Let's go home; this day is quickly becoming a nightmare and I am worried about Chester being alone."

Jeremiah and Isaac both stopped in their tracks as they turned the corner on the road where they had parked their car. They stopped because sitting on the cars roof were three men; three wolf shifters to be exact.

Even in the heavy rain they easily picked up their scent.

The waiting wolves were Jason's friends and they too immediately smelled the vampires as they rounded the corner. Phil stood up on the roof and howled into the night air.

"Dam it," exclaimed Jeremiah as they all made eye contact with each other.

The howl that Phil had just made into the night air was a pack call and Jeremiah recognised it. He and his brother quickly turned on their heels and they ran.

Phil jumped down from the car roof and landed, gracefully, in a crouching position. He smiled as he watched the stinking blood suckers run and he laughed because he knew they were scared and they were alone.

As he stood tall he remarked, "let the lads have a little head start, let 'em think they've a chance." He spoke with a thick cockney accent.

Dan jumped quickly next to him. "Jace wants him alive remember."

"Which of them does Jason want brought back alive?" Phil asked him.

"He said Jeremiah had auburn hair." Dan replied.

"The blonde one is fair play then, I love watching a vampire burn from the inside out." Phil laughed.

Jason's friends began to walk slowly behind the fleeing vampires, laughing and joking as they did so. In the absence of Jason, Phil was the one to take charge. He was tall but stocky and he always wore his thick long black hair tied back in pony tail. Due to his size and girth he had been given the nickname 'King Kong' at school and the name stuck with him; but it was a name he was certainly proud of.

He admired Jason, they had not always been firm friends but the day Phil stood behind Jason during the epic Dennis fight; he knew they were going to be. Jason, who was half his size, knew how to stand up for himself and he would not let people tell him what to do and he respected him for that.

The third man named Duke, primarily because his father had been infatuated with the 1980's TV programme when he was born, followed behind them. Again Duke was well built, he had mousey brown hair which fell just below his chin and he was always clean shaven. He had known Jason since nursery; they had been friends since the age of about three years old.

Duke was also very concerned but then again they all were. Jason had only just woken up and when he really learned what had been happening here for the past year, while he was in a comma, he was going to be infuriated. However, for now, he had been sworn to secrecy, they all had. Jenny had begged them all to keep quiet for now. She'd actually got down on her knees to beg Max.

Jenny knew how Jason would react; he was going to be hurt and then he was going to be livid. Jason did not know yet what Adam had done. She'd just got him back and she did not want to lose him again.
