Can We Try Again?

(6 months later.)
Gabby and Matt are fostering Louie. Stella and Kelly are dating. And Gabby and Matt are getting married today.

I woke up and peeled the arms that were around my waist off so I could go shower.
"Sophia." I heard him yell.
"Hold oh I'm coming out now."
I walked out after getting dressed and sat next to him on my bed.
"Jay we can't keep doing this."
"Doing what?" He asked kissing my neck
"I don't do just sleeping around. Either it's a relationship or not. I got to go. Please give me a decision by the end of the day."

I walked into the firehouse. I went towards my locker to change but stopped when I heard voices. I realized it was Gabby and Matt.
"So we are really doing this? We are really going to the courthouse after work?"
"Yes! I can't wait to be Gabriella Dawson Casey!"
"I can't wait either."
"Were they gonna get married and not tell us?"
I heard footsteps walking my way so I pretended like I just got there
"Good morning guys!"
"Morning Severide."
"Good morning Sophia!" Gabby said more cheerful than usual.
I went to my locker and got changed, then went out to the commons area.
In there was Mouch,Hermann, Brett, and Otis.
When I saw Gabby walk to Casey's office I spoke up
"Guys Matt and Gabby are getting married at the court house after shift. I overheard them talking about it. Let's surprise them. Get the word around but don't tell them we know. Brett tell Antonio."
"Got it."
I walked out to the squad table where Stella,Kelly,Capp, Tony, and Cruz were and told them the same thing.
I walked towards the kitchen to get a water but Connie stopped me.
"Here Severide these are for you."
She handed me a bouquet of roses.
"Do you know who they are from?"
"No they were left with the mail and addressed to you but there was no name."
"Oh ok. Thanks Connie."
Assuming they were from Jay I texted him.
Sophia: Hey did you send me flowers? A bouquet of roses was sent to the firehouse.
It didn't take long for him to answer.
Jay: No, I've been at work all day. Caught a tough case. Sorry.
Sophia: No it's fine, I'm just really confused as too who sent them, but thanks anyway. Good luck with the case.
Jay: Thank you.
Sophia: No problem.
I set my phone down, just as the bells went off.
"Electrical Fire. Truck 81, Squad 3, Ambo 61, Engine 51, Battalion 25."
We all ran towards the rig and got in.

We pulled up to the scene and saw a bouncy house deflating slowly with the top caught on wires hanging above that were sparking.
There was a fire at the bottom where more power lines fell down.
"Chief if we don't get that bouncy house away from those wires now it's gonna start an even bigger fire."
"Chief what if we built a bridge with cribbing and a ladder so that we can get the kid out with a stokes basket?" My brother asked.
"Let's do it. Hermann I need a ladder."
"Everything I have on truck is metal."
"Find something."
"Got it."
"Cruz, Capp get the fire out."
They walked over with an extinguisher and Hermann turned to me and Otis.
"I want you two to find me a wooden ladder. Break down garage doors if you have to."
We nodded and ran towards the houses.
We knocked on a couple doors but no luck.
I looked through one of the garage windows of a house where nobody was home.
"Otis they have one but the garage is locked."
"Here." He handed me metal cutters.
We cut the lock and ran back to the scene.
"Broke into a garage up the block. We owe 3226 a padlock."
"Alright make sure the ladder is lined up with the house." Chief said
We tied the ladder on the cribbing.
"123 lift."
We lined up the ladder and the cribbing up with the bouncy house. And Kelly got on.
"Alright stokes basket bring it in."
"Just hold on Kevin." Kelly said pulling out his knife.
Kelly went towards the bouncy house and cut the net. The bouncy house started to deflate and we saw no sign of Kelly or the boy.
The rope attatched to the stokes basket started to tug.
"Now!"
We pulled the stokes basket out with Kelly covering the kid.
We all went over to make sure Kelly and the little kid were ok. Kelly carried the little boy over to his mom and Brett and Dawson.
I walked over to him.
"Nice save."

We got back to the firehouse, shift was almost over but Gabby and Matt were nowhere to be found.
Once everyone including Chief was all together I said "You know they are probably at the court house right now."
"Then let's go."
We all still had our gear on but we got in the rigs anyway.
"Sylvie call Antonio."
"You've got it."

Brett walked in first and I heard her say,
"Did you really think you could do this without your firehouse family?"
Antonio followed and so did the rest of 51.
We all lined up behind Gabby and Matt.
"I guess you have your witnesses. Now let's get you two married."
Brett picked Louie up and I saw Matt and Gabby with the biggest smiles on their faces. I've never seen them this happy and seeing them like this made me happy.
They faced each other and held hands
"I do."
"I do."
"I know pronounce you... husband and wife."
The room erupted into cheers and claps while Matt and Gabby kissed.
We all went to Molly's to celebrate.
I stood up to make a toast.
I tapped my glass with my fork.
"I want to make a speech really quick."
All eyes turned to me.
"I've known Matthew Casey and Gabriella Dawson for almost 6 years now, and I couldn't be happier for them. I always knew they were meant for each other when I saw the way they looked at each other. I am so happy that you both found someone you love. I love you both and I want you to know that if you ever want to talk privately in the firehouse don't go to the locker room that's how we found out about the wedding." Everyone laughed including Matt and Gabby.
"In all seriousness though, I am really happy for you both and I hope you live a life full of happiness and joy. To the happy couple!"
We clinked our glasses and everyone got back to talking.
After a couple more drinks I decided it was time to go home. I said my goodbyes to Matt and Gabby and went home.
I was about to unlock my apartment door but I saw Jay standing there blocking it.
"My answer is yes."
"Yes what?"
I asked confused.
"I want to try again. Can we try again, I love you so much and I can't believe it took me this long to realize it but I did and now it feels like I can't live without you so can we try again?"
He looked into my blue eyes and grabbed my hands.
"Please?"
I didn't say anything I just went up to him and gave him a kiss on the lips. I stepped away from him.
"Of course we can Jay."
He smiled from ear to ear and lifted me up to his face and gave me a kiss.
I invited him into my apartment and we watched some movies.
I was happy we were together again. So so happy.
