(6 weeks later.) Me and Jay had just finished unpacking our stuff in our new house that we bought together. The house came fully furnished so it was pretty easy. It was hard finding a nice house in Chicago but we found a beautiful 4 bedroom 5 bathroom home. 4 full bathrooms, and 1 half bathroom. It Has a big backyard and a long driveway. It's the nicest home I've ever lived in.

(side note i know you prob wouldn't find a house like this in chicago but just go with it) "Jay I am so happy." "Me too." He kissed me on the four head. My phone started ringing on the marble countertop. "It's my sister I have to take this." "Hey what's up Katie?" "Just calling to get a date on the wedding." "Oh yeah I forgot to call you. The wedding is in 10 months so June 15." "Okay thanks. I got to get going but I will talk to you soon." "Okay bye love you." "Bye!" I hung the phone up and walked back out to Jay. "Hey I have to get to work but I'll see you later." I kissed him on the temple and grabbed my keys "Bye." "Bye." — I walked into the firehouse and felt like I had to puke for the second time today. I went to the bathroom and threw up in the toilet. I wiped my mouth and rinsed it out with water. I walked back out, just as the bells were going off. "Structure fire. Engine 51, truck 81, ambulance 61, squad 3, battalion 25" — We hopped off the rigs and got our gear on. "Otis, Kidd, Casey and Sophia do a sweep of the second floor. Squad clear the first floor where the fire is." "Got it Chief." I nodded "Let's go!" We made our way up to second floor "Fire department call out!" "Help!" I followed the sound of the yelling, and found a women and a young kid hiding in the corner. Stella came behind me and helped me get them out. The rest of 51 came out behind us with a few more people. "Is everyone out?" "Yeah Chief." "Alright hit it." — As soon as we got back I ran to the bathroom to throw up again. I felt someone rubbing my back while I was leaning over the toilet. I got up and saw it was Gabby. I went to wash my hands and rinse my mouth out. "Gabby this is the third time today and the fifth time this week." "Did you eat anything funny?" "No every time I eat it comes back up. Even the smell of alcohol makes me nauseous." She cut me off "You don't think your pregnant do you?" My eyes widened. "I can't be. Can I?" "Well think when was the last time you and Jay had you know." "6 weeks ago." I hit my hand with my face. "I'm pregnant aren't I?" "Well let's run to the drug store and get a test," I nodded and we walked to Bodens office. "Chief can you have Stella fill in for me for like an hour? Me and Sophia have a personal errand to run." "Yeah of course." "Thanks Chief." I smiled at him and grabbed my jacket. We walked to my car and I handed Gabby my keys. "I'm not driving. I'm too nervous." She took my keys and started the car. We drove to the drug store and got the tests and now I'm sitting in my bathroom waiting for the timer to go off. *ding.* I picked the test up and read the results Pregnant. "Oh my god." I walked out of my bathroom and saw Gabby leaning up against my countertops "What does it say?" "It says pregnant. I'm pregnant." I said with tears In my eyes. "That's amazing congratulations." She came over and gave me a hug. "Come let's go to med. We will have Natalie check you out to make sure the test isn't a false positive." I nodded and we went back out to my car. — While we were in the car I guess I was a little too quiet so Gabby broke the silence. "So how are you feeling?" "Kinda nauseas." "That's not what I mean dumbass. How are you feeling about becoming a mom." "I don't know. I guess I'm a little excited but I don't know if I'm ready. I don't know if jay wants a kid right now either. We just got engaged." "Well wether your ready or not you both are gonna be great parents." "Thank you Gabby." She smiled at me. We pulled into the parking lot and went to wait in the waiting room. I called Natalie so she knew we were coming. 5 minutes after we got there she came out. "Come on Sophia. Right this way." She brought us into a room with an ultrasound machine. "Ok this is gonna be cold." Sure enough the gel was cold. "There's your baby." There it was. A living breathing baby. I'm growing a living baby. "Wow." "Congrats Sophia. Tell Jay I said congrats as well." "Hey Natalie before you leave I have a question for you." "What's up?" "I was wondering if you wanted to be a bridesmaid at my wedding?" "I would love to. Thank you for asking." She cleaned the gel off my stomach and said goodbye. We were walking out of med but we were stopped by Will. "Hey Sophia is everything ok?" He asked with a worried look on his face. "Yeah everything is fine." I reassured him. "Then why are you here?" I looked to Gabby. "Just tell him." "I'm pregnant. But you can't tell Jay yet he doesn't know." Wills face lit up. "Your pregnant?" "Yes." He gave me a hug. "You guys are gonna be great parents, and I'm gonna be an uncle." "Yeah you are." I said smiling. — We got back to the firehouse so I could tell everyone that now I can't fight fires but I couldn't find them. Me and gabby walked over to Connie. "Where's 51?" "Conference room. Chief is giving them assignments." "Oh ok." Me and gabby walked to the room and took a seat. "Ok thats all for today. Anybody want to add anything?" I stood up and walked to the front of the room. "I have a very important announcement to make." The room went silent. "I'm leaving 51." A couple peoples mouths fell open. "What?" "You didn't let me finish. I'm leaving 51 but I'll be back in 9 months after my baby is born." The gasps turned into smiles. "Your pregnant?" "Yeah." I smiled as everyone came up and gave me a hug. "Severide my office now." I nodded and followed him. "What's up?" "Well I wanted to start off by saying congratulations." "Thank you." "You will be on light duty for a while." "I figured." "I want you to go home. Your growing a mini you and if it has as much energy as you do then your gonna need some rest." "Ok Chief. Bye." "Bye." — On my way home I stopped at a maternity store and got a onesie that said Surprise on it. I payed for it and when I got home I put in the box with the pregnancy test. "Now all I have to do is wait." I sat at the kitchen island waiting for Jay. — About 2 hours later he got home. "Hey Sophia what are you doing home so early I thought you had a double shift?" "Uhh I did but I wasn't feeling great so chief sent me home." "Oh are you ok." "Yeah I'm fine. I actually have something to give you." "Oh ok." He looked really confused. "Your gonna wanna sit down for this one." He pulled out a stool and sat next to me. I handed him the box. He opened it and his eyes lit up. "Really?" I nodded with tears in my eyes. "We are gonna be parents." "We are." He looked at me with tears glazing his eyes and gave me a kiss. "I found out today but I'm 6 weeks along." "Who knows?" "Gabby because she took me to get the test. 51 knows because I had to tell them why I would be on light duty. Natalie knows because Gabby made me get an ultrasound and your brother knows because he saw me leaving med." "That's a lot of people." "Yeah but I'm close with them all. You can tell whoever you want whenever you want." "I'm so happy Sophia." "Me too." I had a huge smile on my face. "Sophia do you way want to have this baby?" "Jay I don't want to miss the chance at being a mother. The Chief promised me I will always have my spot on truck so yeah I do want this baby." He smiled even bigger than he already was. "I want this baby too." He placed his hand on my stomach. "I love you." "I love you too." ———————————————————————— Hi guys!! Ahh there is so much going on. A wedding and a baby?? Crazy!! The next chapter is going to be where they tell everyone so it's gonna be kinda short and then the next chapter is a time jump and it's going to be the gender reveal and the chapter after that will be the birth of the baby!
