Next day the door bell rang making the redhead rush to open it but no one was there as she was about to close the door she noticed the box with a ribbon around it on her doorstep.

She frowned bringing the package inside and looking at the envelope on it which had her name handwritten on.

Ashley opened the envelope, "Please join the Mikaelson Family, this evening at seven o'clock. For dancing, cocktails and celebration."

Frowning she turned it over seeing that Klaus has written her a note "Save me a dance. Fondly, Klaus."

Ashley sighed opening the box to a beautiful blue dress she passed her fingers on the fabric admiring it, "Nice dress" Caroline commented walking in the living room making the redhead remove her fingers abruptly.

"A dress I won't wear" The redhead said putting the lid back on the box.

"Why?"

"Klaus sent it" She answered briefly

"Eww, but are you going?" Caroline asked leaning on the wall.

"Actually I'm planning to have a night in with Damon just feel like ages since we last talked"

Caroline looked around uncomfortably then nodded, "Yeah yeah you do that"

"So I've been thinking since we've been kind of ignoring each other we could maybe settle things out you know watch a movie have a couple of drinks?" Ashley started as she walked through the living room of the Salvatore house.

Damon frowned, "As much as I want to, I can't tonight" walking past her to his bedroom.

Ashley followed him, "Why is that?"

"I'm sure you've heard about it but I'm going to the Mikaelson ball" He stated opening his closet.

Ashley frowned, "Why didn't you ask me so we can go together?"

He shrugged, "Well I wasn't going until Mama Original wanted to meet Elena alone"

Ashley raised her eyebrows scoffing, "So? you're not her boyfriend, Damon. You don't have to keep an eye on her, I'm sure Elena can fend for herself"

"No but I'm her friend and I can't trust Stefan to protect her, we all know how this witch tried to kill her before"

"You don't realize how messed up this is, do you?" Ashley said leaving the Salvatore house.

She knew that Damon wasn't the same, something had changed since Stefan left she knew that there's something going on between Elena and Damon hell she's now sure more than ever.

Ashley entered Caroline's room watching her put on some make up, the redhead decided that she's not going to ruin her night instead she would go out to the ball and have fun, "You said what time is that dance?"
