Ashley sat with her friends drinking and laughing in Elena's kitchen after they were able to put Klaus down, she couldn't deny that she felt bad for the hybrid especially after he saved her but at least he wasn't dead, Elena entered the kitchen frowning, "What are you guys doing here?"

"Welcome to our victory party!" Caroline cheered grinning

"What victory? We failed. Alaric's still out there." Elena reasoned.

Ashley nodded, "We know, but we've been trying to get rid of Klaus forever and Caroline convinced us to enjoy it for a night."

"You know, to be honest, I'm a little pissed none of you let me help you take down Original brother number two." Matt stated putting his arm around Tyler.

Tyler snorted, "Yeah, he would have taken you right down to the hospital, bro."

"Please, I'm more stealth than that. I'm like a ninja." Matt joked.

"Yeah, you wish." Jeremy said.

Ashley came up to Elena handing her a shot of Tequila, "Here. You need this." She offered her the shot as Elena stared at her confused.

"I heard. And you know that sooner or later, you're gonna have to choose, right?" Ashley said.

Elena looked at Ashley with sympathy, "Ashley I--"

"Look I'm not saying that I'm gonna be completely cool with you choosing Damon but unfortunately it's not my choice it's yours and his, but I'll be here for you, okay" Ashley promised smiling at her best friend.

Elena nodded taking the shot smiling at her friend, "Okay"

Tyler and Caroline walked over to them, "Hey, give me your hand." Tyler asked Elena, she offered him her hand as he poured salt on it.

"All right, let's drink!" Caroline said raising her shot.

Elena turned to Jeremy, "I do not condone this, by the way."

Jeremy shrugged, "You survived Klaus. All right, make an exception, you can go back to being responsible tomorrow."

Elena nodded raising her shot glass ti her mouth followed by the rest of her friends, "Hang on. Do you guys hear that?" Tyler commented.

They all remained silent frowning listening for something then Tyler grinned, "That is the sound of a Klaus-free life."

All of them laughed as Elena raised her shot glass, "To a Klaus free life." They all raised their glass too, "And to all of you. My family." They all smiled clinking their glasses together, saying cheers.

Next morning Ashley and Caroline heard that Elena lost consciousness while painting her room and had to be taken to the hospital so they picked her up from the hospital alongside Tyler and Matt.
