But, here's the first chapter since Hallowe'en... yell at me!*
Chapter 15: A Night Off
As Keith walked out of school, separate from Lance, who ended the day in a different class, his thoughts drifted off to Shiro's words and the way he acted. It was horrible, tearing Keith up from the inside.
Keith couldn't understand why Shiro was so adamant about Keith getting hurt being Spiderman, honestly, even if he was a cop, he would still get hurt, but he wouldn't be able to do things as freely as he currently does. He would be constricted by the laws of the world.
Thankfully, cops and the Mayor didn't give a damn about vigilantes running through their town. Some people didn't agree, but most of those people were people who were able to get away with crimes because of who they were.
It was the rich bastards that thought they were better than everyone else, just because they had the money to do whatever they wanted. Get away with crimes, buy whatever they want, ruining the town for the rest of the people who have to live there. But that's what Spiderman and Deadpool were for. To fix these things and make everything better for the majority that were suffering.
Keith huffed, pushing the thoughts away. He couldn't dwell on what his brother said. If he did that he would fall into another rut, just like the one he's been in for the last ten years.
Keith's eyes narrowed on his bike as he walked towards it, wanting to get as far away from Shiro as he could. Shiro needs to learn, otherwise many more things are going to go wrong. As Keith pulled up near his bike, he threw his bag on the ground next to it, and leaned against his bike, watching the doors for his boyfriend to finally return to his side.
"Hurry up, Lance." Keith whined softly, eyes sifting through the crowds looking for Lance's distinct tanned skin.
"Waiting for someone, Mr Kogane?" Keith's eyes widened as Assistant Principal Zarkon's voice hung heavy in the air. Keith nodded stiffly, refusing to look at the man.
Although he was the assistant principal, Zarkon acted as if he were better than the principal, going to the school board and creating rules to keep the school within his grip.
"Yes, I am." Zarkon growled lowly, moving to stand in front of Keith, his broad shoulders blocking the school gates from view. Keith knew better than to try and move around him.
His fear of the man wasn't irrational. Zarkon was not only big and mean, but he was homophobic and transphobic, and he made sure to make those things known. Trans kids weren't allowed to use their proper bathrooms and if two people of the same gender were a little too close, it was as if Zarkon could sense it from across the school and suddenly appear, demanding to know the sexual orientation of those students.
"You are to say 'Yes, Sir'. You taught you manners?" Zarkon growled, staring down at Keith.
Keith grit his teeth, still refusing to glance at the man, heaven forbid he get in trouble for staring at the man wrong.
"My manners are perfectly taught, I simply believe that once school is out you are no longer my teacher and assistant principal, and just a man standing somewhere that is needless since I am doing nothing wrong." Zarkon growled at Keith's words, seeming to get larger and more dominant in the area.
